I once went to something like that! It was in hackney, somewhere. It involved naked people "dancing" whilst hanging upside down from the ceiling. People wandered around in silence, whispering it was genius art.

I felt wonderfully unbourgeois for about 5 minutes. Hip and happening.

I went to it because I had a job in IT, and to balance the geekyness of this, and as I LOVE art (seeing as well as doing drawingipainting) I signed up for a course at St Martin's College in London.

Where I was confronted with my own bourgeois taste, apparently all my work was "pretty" and "nice" .... everyone fell silent as clearly this was the worst thing your work could be!

Art teacher then invited me to the real thing.
