I second that Smile

Sparklingbrook · 29/10/2011 19:58

I guess it's just us then warmandwooly Grin

Gigondas · 29/10/2011 19:59

No I sky plus it to watch it like that

puzzlesum · 29/10/2011 20:01

I don't generally mind the chat with Tess but the 'training' stuff really is just filler ... they used to do a version of the show with that stuff cut out, now I do my own one by downloading it to the iPlayer desktop and then fastforwarding through the guff.

God knows how long this show is if they re-broadcast it in countries with ad breaks.

warmandwooly · 29/10/2011 20:08

It's just too long with all the extra stuff in that frankly I don't think is needed. It's more an endurance thing for me when I watch it-takes all the pleasure out of it. All i want is the dance and score.

Northernlurker · 29/10/2011 20:08

We're fast forwarding a lot of that too. I could do without quite as much sexual innuendo though!

LaFilleSurLePont · 29/10/2011 20:08

I don't mind watching the training, but I do wish they'd get rid of Bruce Forsyth and his 'jokes'.

MoaninMinny · 29/10/2011 20:19

i spose they need a bit of time to put the props up and change backgrounds etc

warmandwooly · 29/10/2011 20:20

I think the show needs Sir Bruce to hold it together but beyond the dance and the score what else is needed? At the end of the day theres also the week day show with Zoe which to me covers all the traing stuff. I think it's a case of being all "strictlyed out" by the time the show is on!

OP posts:
PattySimcox · 29/10/2011 20:22

I'd like to watch LaFille's version

Bruce holds it together? He ruins it for me. I have to suffer through his dire jokes to get to the dancing. He's not amusing, never has been funny and never will be

DuffyMoon · 29/10/2011 20:35

I sky+ so I can fast foward Bruce - cannot watch live, its unbearable...the sunday show is dire...about 10 seconds of new stuff, remainder is previously watched footage, the pro's having a prance and someone with a record to flog...Have started googling to find result and not bothering to watch

whackamole · 29/10/2011 20:37

YANBU, I hate all the 'comedy' skits they do. Can just about tolerate the training, but would prefer it to be dance-score-end.

Bossybritches22 · 29/10/2011 20:37

The training footage can be quite amusing but I could do without all the mock drama & cheesy acting of the dancers & celebs.

LetUsPrey · 29/10/2011 20:39

What whackamole and Bossybritches22 said.

mycatsaysach · 29/10/2011 20:39

they are padding it all too much too much - i really am worried that this will kill the programme off eventually
i really only want to watch the 90 seconds of everyone's dances - even the training bits are a half baked comedy skit
presenters are awful both of them

scarevola · 29/10/2011 20:39

Then Merlin could start half an hour or more earlier. And the younger DCs might be less toxic. (I can dream!)

warmandwooly · 29/10/2011 20:50

Less training and chat also means like scarevola says Merlin could start earlier and maybe have a new prog somehwere in the schedule?

mycatsaysach · 29/10/2011 20:54

more doctor whoooooooooooo

Ifancyashandy · 29/10/2011 21:03

Um... The training films are needed to give the camears / lighting / band time to reset. And Tess is needed to allow time to collate scores etc.

puzzlesum · 30/10/2011 08:08

Although of course they wouldn't need so much time to reset the stage if (a) they hadn't started using all the bloody stupid props and (b) the programme wasn't broadcast live. I'm not sure what value it adds doing it live given all the presenters then have to get changed to pretend the results show is also live (and poor Claudia has to pretend she watched "last night's" show at home). For me personally, I cannot be arsed watching the show live so the sequence of events is:

  • find out from digital spy who's been knocked out
  • download last night's show to watch most of the dances
  • never watch the results show except for a little Claudia fix every now and then.

This will change as the series progresses but these early weeks are now just utterly pointless as far as I am concerned.

SquelchyBodyParts · 30/10/2011 08:35

Oh dear, I must be a right saddo because I love every second of it! Even It takes two all week, (but loved it more with the ledge that is Claudia).
I even love SIR Brucie's awful jokes! Blush

Bossybritches22 · 30/10/2011 09:03

Well never mind somebody has to Squelchy !!!
