I have NO sweets. Short of offering the kids a pay on the head I have NOTHING in my house.

Do they come on the Saturday before? Do I need to worry? Should I turn off all the lights?

They are getting nothing until Monday here!

Sparklingbrook · 29/10/2011 16:26

They will be disappointed if they knock here before Monday.

Kayano · 29/10/2011 16:27

I just saw another thread about Halloween and got my instant panic on. Probs because I am not even dressed and there is no way I am going to the shops!

I have nothing until I go to the shops tomorrow do they will be leaving empty handed if they come early!
Halloween is quite big here, we get loads of trick or treaters and all the locals go ott decorating their houses.
We are taking out dc out this year but have said we're only going to people we know/neighbours who are decorated. It's like an unwritten rule here if you have a pumpkin out then trick or treaters are welcome.

mankyscotslass · 29/10/2011 16:34

Nothing given out here before Monday.

cyb · 29/10/2011 16:34

Do you have a pumpkin outside your house? Round here, that's the international sign for 'Yes you may bother me with your stupid rubber masks and grabbing hands and NO THANK YOU'S'

worraliberty · 29/10/2011 16:34

I'm sure they'd love money on their heads Grin

hayleysd · 29/10/2011 16:41

Its not Halloween til Monday so yanbu!

SuePurblybiltFromBitsofCorpses · 29/10/2011 16:41

I have mine ready. DD is not allowed to go but is dressed in Donny Darko style as a vast pink bunny. Pumpkin going at the end of the drive in a minute.

I bet nobody comes though. I shall have to eat it all myself. Shame.

I'm waiting until Monday, it hadn't even occurred to me that they'd be here before then.

LadyMaryCrawley · 29/10/2011 16:46

Nope, no-one gets a bean until Monday. I haven't carved the pumpkin yet, but I have bought sweets, just in case.

pink4ever · 29/10/2011 16:46

Eh no-halloween is on monday. Have got nowt in. Only do a couple of bags for dc's friends anyway as dh refuses to answer door to dcs he doesnt know. I take the dcs out trick or treating for an hour and then pop in to the friends houses on way back to hand out goodies then its door locked, lights out and pretend we are not in!Grin

wicketkeeper · 29/10/2011 17:16

Sweets bought and ready, but if anyone comes before Monday I shall compliment them politely on their costume and tell them to come back on the appointed night. But it's raining here, so I don't think anyone'll bother tonight.

SuckItAndSee · 29/10/2011 17:20

I am open for business tonight
but when it's gone, it's gone - we're not restocking for Monday.

JamieComeHome · 29/10/2011 17:24

No- not opening door tonight. Strictly is on

diddl · 29/10/2011 17:28

I won´t be opening the door.

Mind you, I´m in Germany, I can´t think that it would occur to anyone to ask for sweets on anything other than the 31st!

Don´t know any youngsters anymore, so might just lock the gateBlush

MuddlingMackem · 29/10/2011 18:23

YANBU.

I've opened the door and told them it's begging and to come back on Monday when it's fun. I'm a real grouch, but then I'm irritated and annoyed by the interruptions so don't think I'm being unreasonable either.

For a few years we used to get them knocking on the doors anything up to a week before the 31st, but don't seem to have had anyone on anything other than the actual day for the last few years so I'd forgotten what a pain they can be.

Dee03 · 29/10/2011 18:25

Hope I dont get anyone knocking tonight...Monday is Halloween!

activate · 29/10/2011 18:26

OPen door

say Halloween is on Monday, see you then

close door

LittleMissFlustered · 29/10/2011 18:32

Nothing sweet in other than half a pack of jammy dodgers and they can go swivel if they think they're having them!
