I have NO sweets. Short of offering the kids a pay on the head I have NOTHING in my house.

Do they come on the Saturday before? Do I need to worry? Should I turn off all the lights?

Braced for impact here...but children, on the whole, much younger (ours and children in the area). Monday revellers likely to find darkened house, and not in a Halloween stylee.
Just had first arrivals...oh, happy Halloween!

well, you lot were right Grin. we put out the pumpkin and christmas lights and no-one knocked. according to next door it is strictly 31st only round here.

No one knocked for trick or treat last night - there was a Hallowe'en disco for children in the village and I wondered if some would go round as they were dressed up - but no. I'm not putting out the pumpkin until Monday night and it's the sign round here that you're willing to answer the door.
The door was knocked at 6.30 last night and I answered it with a 'come back on Monday, it's not Hallowe'en yet' speech all prepared and it was a lady selling poppies !

My 10 year old ds just read this thread and laughed his head off! Anyway his view is 'No trick or treaters til tomorrow, they can't expect parents to provide two or three days worth of sweets'.
