Sardine, "You are not meant to have children. You are going against nature."

NinkyNonker · 27/10/2011 20:02

Hideous man.

SardineQueen · 27/10/2011 20:10

Herd of elephants I assume that is what he said about gay people (Shock) rather than what you are saying to me Grin

Mind, I'm sure some might think that, what with my dungarees and hairy areas and hating all men and all the rest of it Grin

gettingagrip · 27/10/2011 20:13

I have a son and a daughter. I love them both the same.

Because I think that telling a young woman 'you should have got a taxi so as not to be raped' is a disgusting thing to say to an amazingly brave person, then I am a man-hater????

eh????

NinkyNonker · 27/10/2011 20:15

I had to read if twice Sardine. Grin

HerdOfTinyElephants · 27/10/2011 20:20

I did think that just after hitting "Post" but then thought what the heck, this thread is a bit of a bunfight already...

RantyMcRantpants · 27/10/2011 20:21

I have been raped by a boyfriend, in daylight.

I have had a cab driver attempt to abduct me in daylight.

I have been mugged while walking up the stairs to my car in a two story car park, no lift, in daylight.

I have been attacked at work by a customer, in daylight, while another customer looked on.

Perhaps I should never go out in the day. Perhaps I shouldn't work. Perhaps I shouldn't go out with men.

I am now happily married to a gorgeous bloke and have 3 sons and if I knew any of them had done anything like this I would personally cut their family jewels off.

Eamonn Holmes is a grade A pillock.

goodasgold · 27/10/2011 20:39

I had a long response composed, but

He is a cunt.

She won't get raped again now, now she knows better.

What an ignorant pig Holmes is.

DontCallMeFrothyDragon · 27/10/2011 21:02

goodasgold, I hope that last comment (she won't get raped again) was ironic...

It doesn't matter what you know, the only person who can prevent a rape is the rapist

goodasgold · 27/10/2011 21:09

DontCallMeFrothyDragon, yes it was. The idea that anybody could retrospectively advise women how not to get raped makes me sick. You try it EH to get raped.

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 27/10/2011 21:12

I think it's safe to say GoodasGold was definitely being ironic.

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 27/10/2011 21:13

x-post Smile

DontCallMeFrothyDragon · 27/10/2011 21:16

Aha, glad you cleared that up. Just wanted to check before I did turn into a dragon Grin

goodasgold · 27/10/2011 21:30

Oh yes I called him a cunt didn't I?

The way he speaks to Ruthie makes me sick, and the way she speaks to him. They do not have a healthy relationship.

I am not a man hater, I am nuts over my dh.

Still EH is a cunt.

kelly2000 · 27/10/2011 23:25

So if a victim of domestic violence was being interviewed about her fight to get her attacker prosecuted would it be OK if the interviewer focused on the fact she chose to get married, if she had been raped by her partner, would it be OK to harp on about how she should have known most rapes happen in relationships, if the man who got beaten up recently in a car park when he went out to an empty car park at two in the morning is being interviewed on TV would it be OK if the interviewer went on about how he should not have been in the car park etc. Or what about a soldier, should we say he should have known better and not joined the army when he is being interviewed about losing his legs etc

Why is it only rape victims who are supposed to take part of the blame for the attack. No-one expects a man who is beaten up when walking alone to take the blame, even if he is raped. I guarantee if this was a twenty year old man on TV talking about being dragged off the street and raped after a night out no-one would even think to tell him he should have got a taxi.

kelly2000 · 27/10/2011 23:28

I also bet if she had got a taxi and been raped, the driver would have walked free by claiming she was drunk and consented.

DontCallMeFrothyDragon · 27/10/2011 23:36
MakesCakesWhenStressed · 27/10/2011 23:43

Our no doing it would be her fault for getting the wrong taxi/not realising the driver was a rapist/crossing her legs provocatively at him in the mirror etc etc

ComradeJing · 28/10/2011 09:06

Eamonn Holmes is a women hating dick.

Blacksquirrel · 28/10/2011 12:02

He's an idiot!

If Ruth had said it I would think she was an idiot too!

There is absolutely no point in him repeatedly mentioning the girl not taking a taxi or to take one in future as it is too f**ing late! Telling her to take a taxi will not turn back time!

raspberryroop · 28/10/2011 12:41

Petition or complaint? any idea's how to highlight to his bosses we think he a knob?

crazynannawitchbitch · 28/10/2011 12:44

I already sent an email to ITV asking them how long they were going to employ a blundering, insensitive and insulting idiot on one of their daytime primetime shows.

JosieRosie · 28/10/2011 12:54

'Because men are victims of 'unprovoked attacks.' Women are 'attacked whilst walking home from a night out'

Exactly!

Jesus Christ and Shock to the gay parents comments! HOW can this man have the prominent presenting role that he does??? Agree that he's utterly vile to his wife too. Makes me retch. What the flip does she see in him? Confused

Horrendous stores about creepy/scary cab drivers on here. An ex-colleague of mine got a cab home by herself years ago and got dropped off to her front door. 10 mins later, the doorbell rang and it was the taxi driver, leering at her and blocking the door with his frame. Luckily, her husband came thundering down the stairs in his dressing gown at that moment and the taxi driver legged it. She was really shaken by it but got a massive bollocking from her husband about coming home plastered in a cab Hmm Can't do right for doing wrong eh?
