to believe that dog owners who leave their dogsh*t outside of schools/nurseries should be executed?

I think it's deliberate.

As a dog owner myself yes I do. In fact, those that leave it anywhere should be! Unfortunately I also assume that those who show that kind of disregard for others will also not be worming their dogs properly thus making their dogs poo extra dangerous.

thisisyesterday · 27/10/2011 10:35

i think dog owners who leave it anywhere should be executed quite frankly.

it's absolutely filthy.

IHeartKingThistle · 27/10/2011 10:38

Bleurg. Last term someone let their dog crap on the pavement outside school just before the school run every morning for weeks. It was revolting. Seems to have stopped now though - fingers crossed!

IHeartKingThistle · 27/10/2011 10:39

I couldn't stop thinking about all those little shoes and buggy wheels trailing the stuff everywhere.

WitchesBroomForMyChin · 27/10/2011 10:39

YANBU I know someone who is now blind in one eye after falling in dog poo, not washing hands properly and ended up with something, possibly a worm in her eye. It's disgusting and a small fine really isn't a big enough punishment.

MackerelOfFact · 27/10/2011 10:45

YANBU. But so should the owners of cats who crap in gardens where children play.

toboldlygo · 27/10/2011 10:45

There's already an anti-dog thread, obviously no-one on here is going to say "it's me who leaves dog shit in the street, haha!" or disagree with you and state that shit in the street is wonderful and executing anyone for pretty much anything is going to get you a big fat YABU. Yawn.

FantasticVoyage · 27/10/2011 10:48

To be fair, Britain's a lot better than some other countries in the excrement department.

But I am surprised that when I do see it, a significant amount of times are either outside the nursery I drop DD at, or the infant school we walk past on the way there.

I could be imagining it, of course. But I'm starting to suspect that there's some misanthropic dog owners about who've trained their mutts to sh*t outside schools (ok, the last part is a bit mental but I'm sure you get my drift).

Yanbu - they should indeed be executed.

Cat owners are different though - they can't control what their cat does.

thisisyesterday · 27/10/2011 10:49

this isn't an anti-dog thread. it's an anti-dog-owners-not-clearing-up thread.

i wonder how much gets trodden through school carpets each day. Mmmm

thisisyesterday · 27/10/2011 10:50

i often wondered if the poo outside ds1's previous school was actually people doing school drop off with their dogs. would explain why it was always there

ElsieMc · 27/10/2011 10:50

There's always dog shit outside the childrens' primary school. The school generally notify the PCSO and it stops for a while, then starts again and gets walked into school etc.

One of the dinner ladies identified a culprit, picked it up and posted it through their letter box only to find them waiting at the school at the start of term with their own child who was a new starter. Unbelievable.

ramblinrose · 27/10/2011 10:50

YANBU

Or bring back the stocks and pelt them with it!

ghoulionine · 27/10/2011 10:53

Executing is a bit strong but I see where you are coming from and agree.

Last week I was making my way to work, a little dog started running after me and then jumping at me. Could not get rid of the thing , I could hear a voice calling the dog far away in the backgrond with the dog taking no notice of it and carrying on bouncing arround me. Comes a van on the road and stupid dog crosses right in front of the wheels. I get shouted at by the driver who thinks it is my dog! After about 5 minutes eventually the dog owner appears, a tall body builder built man but with absolutely no autority on his dog tries to catch it, dogs runs away, stops in front of a house, poos right in front of the door step seen by both myself and owner who manages to catch it at that time. To cut a long story short, the pooh was still there when I came back from work! an absolute disgrace!

rycooler · 27/10/2011 10:58

Dh and I were discussing public flogging over breakfast - we'd love to see it reinstated.

toboldlygo... genius. :)

EsmeWeatherwax · 27/10/2011 11:06

A bit extreme possibly, but I'd agree with the general sentiment. If you have them, you pick up after them.

MackerelOfFact · 27/10/2011 11:07

"Cat owners are different though - they can't control what their cat does."

They can train it to use a litter tray, or choose not to let it outside. Or follow it around with a small bag like a dog owner. Cat poo is no safer than dog poo and I am sick of having to comb my garden for faeces before my DCs can play in it.

rycooler · 27/10/2011 11:23

I agree it's disgusting to have animal poo in your garden - we have it every day ( foxes mainly ) I think the government should do something about urban foxes - they're vermin and a lot more of a PITA than cats. But that's another thread.

hellhasnofury · 27/10/2011 11:27

Why just schools and nurseries though? Why not dog owners who don't clear up after their dogs no matter where it is?

rycooler · 27/10/2011 11:28

agree.

mamasmissionimpossible · 27/10/2011 11:30

YANBU. It really annoys me too. There was a massive pile of squashed dog shit on pedestrian crossing where my dc's were trying to cross the road yesterday. They narrowly missed treading in it. It is so selfish of dog owners to not be responsible for their dogs waste.

Haggydclohbatspus · 27/10/2011 11:32

YANBU. Cat owners should also be brutally executed. If you want one, keep it in your house and build an outdoor enclosure for it. I dont want your cat shit in my garden. I dont want your cat shit on my kids shoes and I dont want your cat to wonder into my shed, get trapped and piss all over my kids garden toys. Yes, wild animals shit in my garden, but not in the same fucking place every single day, and they are wild animals. Your cat is not wild. Its your fucking cat, so keep it away from me!

Haggydclohbatspus · 27/10/2011 11:32

P.S. I have a dog. I keep it away from you and I clean up after it.

poppygolucky · 27/10/2011 11:35

I love dogs. But I could have gladly headbutted the owner who let theirs shit outside my house. Took half an hour and an iron-like constitution to clean it off buggy.

My cats shit in my garden, among the bushes and bury it. Therefore I'm absolved of that particular crime.
