To expect some help from the people who sold me the house

I'm a single chap who recently bought his first house. I have asked the people who sold the house to me for some help with things like how to set the heating. At first they were very helpful, but now they seem to be a little 'off' with me. I need to ring them again to ask where the key for the oil tank is, but i'm a little worried about it. AIBU?

Perhaps you've asked them too much?

Getting your mum to turn up at their new house asking for them to come and see to stuff there and then is probably not a good idea!

No - when you buy a house you are effetively buying the services of ALL previous owner for eternity - do they not come round and mow the lawn, clean the carpets etc - contact injury lawyers for you or some such - they sound awful

I would vote for your mum to ring also

and while she's at it get her to tuck you in and read you a bedtime story. When she's got the house all toasty warm and nice and clean for you, obviously

What's happened to the original OP? Have you chained her to the boiler until she accepts that she's been put on this earth to help you until the end of time?

Try not to take it to heart, everyone can have an 'off' day at times, it's probably not about you.

Give them a chance to relax of an evening - don't ring too early. I suggest after 10pm.

The young man who bought my house in 2002 promised that if I sold it to him he'd cover my fees (£1000 in cash ) so I accepted his offer. Then he fucked about no end by going to Thailand for three months and then giving up his job. I could have had it bought by the nice inheritance-rich cash-buying couple but I was fucking stupid.

He wanted most of the furniture (Ercole / G-plan) but after taking possession decided he couldn't be arsed and kept texting me to arrange to get rid of it. Given that I had my entire life in it's very basic form in expensive storage and was in a needle-ridden hostel with 2yo DD I wasn't very polite.
