So, Sunday lunch at a friend's yesterday. A couple that we know slightly are also invited. The woman who is very bright and very pleasant for the first hour, drinks so much that she is literally unable to speak (but doesn't stop trying), and we all carry on with lunch pretending that everything is normal and not laughing where she can see.

Is this normal? In any way?

Tyel - I would say something, but having had a melanoma I like you am pretty avid about such things. i would say 'please go and have that looked at', not in a scary way, but because even if it is something dodgy, it is usually very easy to sort (like i say I had skin cancer but came through fine, but am very paranoid about it happening again).

ShirleyKnot · 10/10/2011 14:47

That Miranda one makes me want to hurt stuff

GetOrfMo1Land · 10/10/2011 14:48

yep. Still on the tramadol, still ghaslty kidney pain, its not kidney stones (had ultrasound) so am having to have kidney biopsy.

Hullygully · 10/10/2011 14:49

I haven't seen Miranda.

What is funny? (I mean on telly, not like, existentially)

I used to love A Very Peculiar Practice

i don't get miranda, I think she is incredibly not funny, it is like something from the 70s

HULLY PLEASE TELL US ABOUT THE STATE OF THEIR HOUSE

Hullygully · 10/10/2011 14:49

Need to know more about the hair transplants. I don't think I've ever met someone with hair transplants - but I don't know. How do you tell? How do you know? Is it worse than men with syrups or Grecian 2000? Do you have to try not to talk to the transplanted hair? Need to know!!!!

Hullygully · 10/10/2011 14:50

I can't. The teeny tiny bit of restraint I have left must be exercised.

modern Family - is on Sky. American family sitcom with Al Bundy in it., best sitcom since Friends

(Pinot - did you like it?)

Curb Your Enthusiasm

An Idiot Abroad (against all my better judgement)

ShirleyKnot · 10/10/2011 14:51

Uh. I'm just watching DVD boxsets really.

I've heard good things about Fresh Meat

PinotScreechio · 10/10/2011 14:51

RuddyNora GetOrf. I can do a kidney-ectomy on my dining room table if you'd like

Modern Family on sky is very funny

Hullygully · 10/10/2011 14:51

Bugsy.

Well, one day he didn't have much hair, then the next time I saw him (months later), he had a thick thatch of hair with a straight across fringe. And no bastard had warned me in advance.

yy to modern family

I have about 26 episodes of CUE on my box but I can only watch about half an episode per time as they are SO EMBARRASSING

GetOrfMo1Land · 10/10/2011 14:52

My BIL has had it done - you serioudly cannot tell (he wasn't bald before, just thinning).

They cut a strip off the back of his head and harvested the hair follicles off that, and stuck them in the front of his head. He looked a bit tufty and daft for 6 months, now he just looks like he has normal hair, just not receding any more. It cost him thousands apparently.

All 3 brothers (including DP) ripped the piss mercilessly, and now they are incredibly jealous Grin

PinotScreechio · 10/10/2011 14:52

Idiot Abroad makes me a bit stabby. liked series 1, series 2 nah.

Fresh Meat? Whassat?

ShirleyKnot · 10/10/2011 14:53

GetOrfMo1Land · 10/10/2011 14:53

ShirleyKnot · 10/10/2011 14:55

BupcakesandHaunting · 10/10/2011 14:55

GetOrf - Harvested hair follicles??????? OMG. What happened to the strip that they harvested? Bugsy has image of baldness moving up back of head, rather than from front of head - slightly disturbed by it. Sorry to hear about the kidney thing. Hope it gets sorted.
