Only if it's Lovecats

PomBearAtTheGatesOfDawn · 07/10/2011 19:56

As long as it's not "killing an Arab" Hmm (I once got in trouble for playing that where the Saudi exchange students could hear it, and it wasn't even my tape, I just turned it over at the end! - Showing my age there, and still rankled 25 years later!)
DS4 has a "Friday I'm in Love" tshirt somewhere, and I taught him to sing it when he wanted to know what it said Grin

belindarose · 07/10/2011 19:57

Or 'Boys Don't Cry'. What are you choosing? [digs out old albums for the evening]

mistressploppy · 07/10/2011 19:57

It's "Why can't I be you?"

I just can't bear wall-to-wall nursery favourites and the fucking theme tune to the Tweenies

Great choice!

mistressploppy · 07/10/2011 20:08

Thanks!

I suppose The Smiths is a bridge too far?

Georgimama · 07/10/2011 20:13

I was just going to say "if you have the Cure you must have the Smiths as well."

"Friday I'm in Love" is my happy song. Play that. As for Smiths, well, er. Not the one about the ten ton truck. But I do love them and children should be taught to love proper music.

AgentZigzag · 07/10/2011 20:14

I was going to say only if it's Stray Cats or Killing an Arab, but Shock at poor pombear!

Not a good turn of events Grin

belindarose · 07/10/2011 20:15

I'm enjoying my soundtrack for the evening. Thank you very much, OP!

barbie007 · 07/10/2011 20:16

Love The Cure! Good choice

funnypeculiar · 07/10/2011 20:16

Course. Dd had this on a loop at her third...

Vallhala · 07/10/2011 20:18

Lovecats, yes. Friday I'm In Love, yes. Anything else, no.

And if you play The Smiths I might have to slap you.

:o

How about a nice bit of The Jam, The Beat, or even some poppy Duran Duran, Depeche Mode or, dare I suggest it, some Spands?

AgentZigzag · 07/10/2011 20:22

'How about a nice bit of The Jam, The Beat, or even some poppy Duran Duran, Depeche Mode or, dare I suggest it, some Spands? '

I've always admired you Val.

I feel let down, and a bit dirty Sad

AgentZigzag · 07/10/2011 20:23

Actually, I quite like the feeling a bit dirty Confused but also Smile

Confused
mistressploppy · 07/10/2011 20:23

Ok, so I already have:

Madness
Kirsty MacColl
Del Amitri
The Jam
Violent Femmes
Ramones
Housemartins
The Specials

Georgimama · 07/10/2011 20:24

For a laugh add some Wham. Toddlers love the Wham rap for one thing.

Georgimama · 07/10/2011 20:24

Which Specials? Not Ghost Town, surely?

mistressploppy · 07/10/2011 20:25

Monkey Man. But I could have put loads of 'em on

OP posts:
SardineQueen · 07/10/2011 20:29

Specials - Friday night saturday morning? The other parents will be well impressed Grin

mistressploppy · 07/10/2011 20:34

"...piss stains on my shoes"

Grin

DH was in charge of organising music for a third birthday party for DS recently, which meant they raved to leftfield and Fat Boy Slim.
They loved it Grin
Most of the grown ups loved it too.

NestaFiesta · 07/10/2011 20:36

Mistressploppy, with that playlist, please tell me the time and venue so I can come and throw some shapes in an embarrassing Mum like way.

Iggly · 07/10/2011 20:36

A play list for a 2 year olds birthday party?! Hmm Grin

SardineQueen · 07/10/2011 20:36

I'm whistling it while I tidy the kitchen...

Out of bed at 8am
Out my head by half past ten

Mind you the piss bit is apt for toddlers. Mine actually did have piss stains on her shoes earlier

mistressploppy · 07/10/2011 20:38

Yeah, Iggly, I can't just put the ipod on random, I've got too many Amateur Transplants on there Blush Grin

All welcome, Nesta
