To think Alex James should be drowned in a vat of Spudsworth Melting Cubes?

Here's Alex James, friend of Cameron and Clarkson and fellow member of the Chipping Norton set, coining it in by flogging cheese to the plebs at Asda.

Surely 'bread-shaped cheese blankets' are just cheese slices. And Spudsworth? Chop up a small quantity of 4 cheeses and put them in a bag. Bingo, a brand new product.

Can we all just stop this collective madness and stop buying any old shit, just because it's sold by a celeb?

Bupcakes the Very Big House exists. Its a B&B now. Mr VP stays there when he's in The Essex. Run by the very eccentric widow of the Professional Cynic.

ScrambledSmegs · 30/09/2011 13:35

God I used to be in love with Alex James, back when I was a student. In love, I tell you. And now this, this cheesewankery has made me look back on those happy times with disgust and self-loathing.

Bastard.

ColdSancerre · 30/09/2011 13:35

Vivi I also swoon over Adam, I never knew farming as so utterly fascinating.

BupcakesandCunting · 30/09/2011 13:37

Alex is the Nathan Barley of cheese.

ViviPru · 30/09/2011 13:37

ColdSancerre TB tests this week. Don't know if I can watch :(

CHEESEWANKERY Waaahhhh!!

MorrisZapp · 30/09/2011 13:38

gordylovessheep: 'gratingly smug'

D'you see what you did there? :)

Frankly, I hope his Hunter boots suck into the mud and leave him flailing about in his socks. I'm sure I saw something similar on TV.

SexualHarrassmentPandaPop · 30/09/2011 13:38

I've just looked up his kids names - shockingly bad even for a celeb.

Yourefired · 30/09/2011 13:38

Look I'm getting a little concerned. It clearly states that alex has become obsessed with all things cheese. This not healthy, the people close to him should be organising an intervention, perhaps slipping small pieces of ham into his diet. May be there is a cheese substitute, tofu?

ViviPru · 30/09/2011 13:41

Yourefired Your concerns are not unfounded. My gallstones and subsequent laparoscopic cholecystectomy were solely attributable to the lifetimes' worth (if not more) of cheese I had consumed in a mere 30 years, within an otherwise healthy diet. I was a medical conundrum until the specialist asked "do you eat much cheese?"

gordyslovesheep · 30/09/2011 13:48

pmsl I am a genius and I didnt know it !

PrideandBumperlicious · 30/09/2011 13:58

What a load of wank indeed! Interesting to know about Harvest as I was considering going. Glad I didn't now.

NorfolkBroad · 30/09/2011 14:01

He is SO annoying...."welcome to my fabulous, perfect life" etc. UGH!

PierceDeere · 30/09/2011 14:08

A friend of mine delivered a couple of his children.
She says he was an utter tosspot.

He asked her if she knew who he was and then talked about cheese.

mrjellykeepskidsquiet · 30/09/2011 14:11

The video alone was chronic....the cheese is way overpriced which is good enough reason for me not to buy.

PierceDeere · 30/09/2011 14:14

I don't think I could ever trust someone who was that into cheese.

It seems so wrong and unhinged.

MamaLazarou · 30/09/2011 14:15

YANBU. He needs a good hard slap round the chops.

BakeliteBelle · 30/09/2011 14:18

I am more offended by the new Jamie Oliver grow bag range - tomato and potato grow bags for sale in Homebase, with his horrible pudgy face on 'em. At least Alex James lives in the vicinity of where the cheese is produced and isn't just sticking his mug shot on some Kraft cheese slices

ViviPru · 30/09/2011 14:23

To be fair the the moon-faced foodie, though Bakelite, our Homebase/Jamie Oliver chilli plant has continuously yielded the most unexpectedly profuse crop for the last 5 months, so he's more than welcome to his % on that one.

wamster · 30/09/2011 14:28

No, Damon Albarn won't be coming around to masticate your food for you; he is a proper musician -fair play to him- who is continuing to make music unlike Mr James and his average talent (at best) for playing bass guitar.

Why don't these faded averagely-talented-not-really-into-making-music pop stars eff off and just slide into obscurity with their vast amounts of cash? All they do is remind the rest of us that we're getting bloody old!

ovenchips · 30/09/2011 14:32

YANBU

Nob.

bintofbohemia · 30/09/2011 14:33

Just watched the asda video. It's a joke, isn't it? Isn't it? I'm not sure who's in on it, but he has to be taking the piss...

loudee · 30/09/2011 14:35

Grin ahh my very first laugh-so-much-i-snorted-my-tea thread, thank you ladies! i very much hope the comments at bottom of page are PR bilge or simon horne from shoreham really sounds like he needs some friends

MrsBuntyCulDeSacWonder · 30/09/2011 14:35

Alex Knob Cheese. He's been gradually going down in my estimation. First, Pop star to Opera star, then hanging out with Twunty Cameron and Twunty Clarkson at his food festival, and now this! I'd like to put his cheese blankets up his hairy little ?!

wamster · 30/09/2011 14:36

Mind you, what is an old pop star to do? Maybe he just feels there is no other whey...There's no other whey.

BupcakesandCunting · 30/09/2011 14:37

I was wondering if it might be a joke too. And whether Chris Morris is in on it.
