Cannot find a care bear tablecloth.

I was thinking of ironing on transfers to a plain white table cloth - is this bonkers?

MmeLindor. · 29/09/2011 10:17

I was trying to post, and couldn't. Weird.

I was going to ask if it is your DD's first birthday?

Tbh, I would not bother to iron on the transfer, as your DD is unlikely to even notice. Just use a plain one.

addictedtofrazzles · 29/09/2011 10:17

Yes - this is bonkers as a) dd is only one, so won't remember or give a monkeys and b) it is an unnecessary expense.

So sorry - YABU.

NoobyNoob · 29/09/2011 10:19

I think you'd be making more work for yourself. I'm assuming it's going to be covered with food/drinks anyway?

Maybe just get one that colour matches everything? People really won't notice.

Honeydragon · 29/09/2011 10:20

Bonkers - just use a table cloth and rely on the other decor

bytheMoonlight · 29/09/2011 10:25

DD1 Will be four

Getting other decoration is proving quite tricky as well

OP posts:
MmeLindor. · 29/09/2011 10:26

Do you have a care bear theme?

The table cloth will be covered with plates and food, no one will see that there are no bears on there.

MmeLindor. · 29/09/2011 10:27

Why care bears?

AchtungBaby · 29/09/2011 10:29

OP, how old is DD1? Confused.

If she loves Care bears and would love the tablecloth (and if it would be difficult to have enough of a Care bear theme otherwise), then I think that you should go for it.

A1980 · 29/09/2011 10:40

care bear supplies?

savoycabbage · 29/09/2011 10:44

Yes it is madness as she won't notice. Walking through ikea last week they had one of those rolls of paper as a table runner. Could you have a paper tablecloth and trace care bears on it. Or make with a laminator place mats.

All bonkers though.

worraliberty · 29/09/2011 10:45

Blimey, that's well bonkers

What's the worst that's going to happen if there are no care bears on the cloth?

chrisrobin · 29/09/2011 10:49

I wouldn't put transfers on a table cloth, but does she have a Care Bears duvet that you could put on the table?

chrisrobin · 29/09/2011 10:51

Duvet cover rather, not the duvet itself

browneyesblue · 29/09/2011 10:53

Or a Care Bears sheet. I like the idea of tracing Care Bears onto a tablecloth though - that way, the party guests could colour them in.

muffinflop · 29/09/2011 11:05

I would but I see I'm in the minority and I'm aware I go way OTT for matching party decor Grin

bringmesunshine2009 · 29/09/2011 11:10

Bonkers pal, sorry!

jojane · 29/09/2011 11:17

If it would make DD happy then go for it.

bytheMoonlight · 29/09/2011 12:44

It's the vinatge care bear things I want really - not the modern ones.

Considering knocking some up myself but I'm not very creative.

I need a centrepiece and a couple of wall decorations.

Any ideas on how to create these much appreciated!

Pandemoniaa · 29/09/2011 12:51

Wall Decorations? What are you hosting here, Abigail's Party?

katz · 29/09/2011 12:54

i think it's a great idea, i've bought very cheaply from ebay iron on transfers and made t-shirts for birthday parties (doing it again for DD1's next week). A cheap cotton table cloth plus these would be great and the huge advantage is you can use it again. The transfers i've bought have washed really well.

CristinadellaPizza · 29/09/2011 12:55

Why don't you just find some pictures online and print them out and cut them out?

Or is that too simplistic? :o

Primafacie · 29/09/2011 12:56

Madness, madness I tell you!!!

But have you seen these? etsy
