Well done Madame Hully. I will order tabards for the gardeners, oh and flags, and we must embroider our hankies.
I am hiding here for a moment, as I appear to have upset a few men mumsnetters by declaring that they are useless at loading a dishwasher. Post after me quickly so they don't see.

entropygirl · 23/01/2012 12:24

La La La...nothing to see here

BeribbonedGibbon · 23/01/2012 13:32

I am so impressed!

Minimammoth · 23/01/2012 13:48

I am concerned about our tv cook Dave,< hung like Jonny, looks like Fanny>. Hugging hare as we speak, I don't think Myrtle and Birtle are doing enough.< wish I had amusing link>

Minimammoth · 23/01/2012 13:52

Not hugging hare ,although you never know. Juggling, no not juggling you stupid quill, Jugging.

BeribbonedGibbon · 23/01/2012 16:21
Grin

I have a spot spot for Dave.

sybilvimes · 23/01/2012 17:57

it is a truly splendid Coat of Arms Miss Entrophy, and if my knicker legs are feeling a bit looser after paying for the chaise longue well I can honestly say it was worth it.

Jins · 23/01/2012 18:12

I found this young man sad and alone at the Golden Globes (whatever that may be) and thought we could find hima spare room while he sorts himself out.

In return he is going to help me rearrange my counterpane. We may be a while. I propose to read him some improving works and let us only pray that his trauma subsides in time

entropygirl · 23/01/2012 21:36

hmmm we should probably hide the deppiam's if we are bringing the original home for tea...

Minimammoth · 24/01/2012 16:50

Hellooo oh. Have we transferred our attentions to the 'celebrating coat of arms' thread or are we still wearing this old thing?

Jins · 24/01/2012 16:56

I'm wearing this one. It's properly worn in now

Fiderer · 24/01/2012 18:20

Here. The celebrations were joyous but 'tis a relief to be back home and be able to unloosen the corset.

Fiderer · 24/01/2012 19:58

Anyone know anything about déjà vu? I have started a thread in Chat as ds2 is fretting that there's something wrong with him, he has it almost constantly these days. I suspect it's anxiety.

entropygirl · 25/01/2012 00:21

Well wikipedia has just fantastically increased my knowledge on the topic but I dont really feel that my personal mangling of what wiki says will be of much use....

My own private theory is that it can be triggered my motion sickness...I used to find that on long car journeys. Something to do with your eyes, ears and brain disagreeing about things enough to cause confusion about the sequence of events. Anxiety can certainly cause you to think the same thing again and again which could lead to a groundhog day effect, but I am not sure you would describe that as deja vu? How old is your ds?

Fiderer · 25/01/2012 06:40

He's 12 and I do think it's caused by anxiety. Mini made a point about his age, adolescence being a time of turmoil hormonally and I've asked her for some relaxation tips he can use at school. Mini (fab Mini) used to teach just that to his age group.

Pagwatch · 25/01/2012 08:38

Fiderer

Hey, pag the elder had that around that age. He is also expert on the internalising stress front.
He is 18 now. He has primarily recognized that he needs to excercise and eat well. I know that sounds really trite but a huge crash around Christmas just confirmed it. He is now running regularly and signed up for rugby at uni and is doing much better.
Obviously first term at uni was a big stress so we were not surprised tbh.

The other thing that helped when he was smaller was deep pressure massage. No poncy light rubs - a good tough massage and then (weird alert) putting blankets over him and lying on him.

You can point and laugh if you like Grin

Interestingly pagboy has just started asking for massages too, just as his verbal tics have increased and he has started to stammer -a sure sign of stress in him. And he sometimes intuitively knows what he needs iyswim

Jins · 25/01/2012 08:54

Oh chiming in on the tic issue. DS2 has developed some twitches recently which he's very conscious of. Deep pressure massage eh?

Minimammoth · 25/01/2012 08:58

Fid. Pag. I think the massage is a good idea, if the boys are comfortable with it. In a 'past life' I used to give these, the ones where you get your elbows in. Men luv em. Good stuff. < just realised this might sound a bitHmm>
Entropy this might help you.

Minimammoth · 25/01/2012 09:01

It gets the endorphins going.

Pagwatch · 25/01/2012 09:04

Grin at mini and her man massaging.

Yes. You have to suspend your disbelief. It sounds batty. But it works. Pagboys fav was when I wrapped him in a duvet and lie on it. I used to ask ds1 to do it first to show pagboy but it was just a pretext . he found it as calming as pagboy did but needed persuading.

The other way we got him to agree was dh going through this elaborate 'oh goodness I am so tired, could I have a massage' and doing 'oh goodness this is so relaxing' all the way through. then I casually offered ds1 a try.

We are like masters of deception and cunning.

Minimammoth · 25/01/2012 09:12

Pag did you leave messages for each other in mock rocks?
I wonder if the duvet and weight thing is womb like, and they then feel safe?
< nods and rubs beard>

Pagwatch · 25/01/2012 09:34

Yes, I wonder if it was ultimately all foetal.

I had to connect with the slightly weirdy because pagboy has sensory related problems and hated light touch. So I had to get him hugging Grin

And yes. We had cunning codes and names and everything.

Minimammoth · 25/01/2012 09:47

IPOAT 'rules' then. I bet you both wear raincoats as well.

Hullygully · 25/01/2012 10:03

It's containment isn't it? A return to primal safety feelings an that.
