I lurk a bit at work ( prenteding to be busy, saves me making the tea ) and have started the odd thread here and there seeking advice, BuT my god I feel sorry for the posters who are on here day in day out for hours.
I know some people are socially isolated and I'm sure they get a lot from mumsnet, but it is rather sad when it becomes your main source of adult interaction, and by choice for many I imagin. I know mumsnet has one million members, but it's always the same names coming up in active conversations. These forums should be a place where you drop into now and then, not somewhere you rely on for friendship.

AIBU ?

MN too has enhanced my life, I do love it, but just like chocolate, wine, exercise, sex, TV, reading, cakes, socialising and all the other good things in life some people over do it.

And it does affect those around you as does anything in excess. Of course it isn't impeding everyones parenting. This thread is about people on MN all day everyday not every mner.

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 09/09/2011 21:23

Sue that should so be your new NN.

Sueslicklikeawalrus

Kinda looks rude actually..... :o

LeBOF · 09/09/2011 21:25

I don't think she's friends with Jesus, lissielou. He would take A Dim View, I'm sure.

SarahStratton · 09/09/2011 21:25

Slick like a greased walrus. Grin

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 09/09/2011 21:25

lissielou you took the words right out of my mouth twice

LeBOF · 09/09/2011 21:26

Beautiful, that, wasn't it, Sarah? Grin

SuePurblybilt · 09/09/2011 21:26

That looks like I lick walruses. I do not. They are too tusky. So I sent them back.

LadyBeagleEyes · 09/09/2011 21:26

I've just noticed my first post on this thread was at 12.35.
So, theoretically sp. I've been here for half the day.
I'm proud to be the saddest bastard on this thread.Grin
I'm not in any quiche, though I've posted on the wolefs thread a couple of times.
But I am a lone wolef at heart, I prowl around all the threads and put in my words of wisdom here and there.

SarahStratton · 09/09/2011 21:27

Stunning. I feel unworthy even repeating it. Grin

tralalala · 09/09/2011 21:27

seriously lissie if you can't accept for some people (not you before you have a fit) but for some people being on the internet ALL day isnt doing themselves or their families any favours then you are deluded.

UrsulaBuffayHere2Help · 09/09/2011 21:27

whatever gets you through the day innit

SarahStratton · 09/09/2011 21:28

None of your business though, innit.

SuePurblybilt · 09/09/2011 21:29

Innit though.

SarahStratton · 09/09/2011 21:29

Tralalala, no one's disputing that being on the Internet all day every day can be bad for one's health. But I don't think you're in any position to say who that is. As LeBof said, it may look like she's been on all day but she hasn't. It may look like I've been on all day. I haven't. As Sue said, I log on on my iPhone, check TIO and sometimes Active and maybe post a reply. I'm a quick reader. It doesnt take me all day. Your audacity astounds me.

UrsulaBuffayHere2Help · 09/09/2011 21:33

innit though Grin

OracleInaCoracle · 09/09/2011 21:34

Saycool Grin, BOF, I have a friend inb jesus.

Trlalala, the point is, you are making assumptions. You are assuming that their home life suffers as a result of mning. You can't possibly know.

SuePurblybilt · 09/09/2011 21:36

Jesus wants me for a sunbeam. But want will have to be His master, cos I am Mnetting. Innit.

OracleInaCoracle · 09/09/2011 21:39

Well, jesus he knows me. And he knows I'm right.

Innit.

UrsulaBuffayHere2Help · 09/09/2011 21:40

I tried to talk to Jesus but he was MNing innit

SarahStratton · 09/09/2011 21:40

S'truth though Sue. Innit.

Anyway, I don't neglect the DDs. They're teenagers, all they want is their laptops and a regular supply of pizza slid under their bedroom doors.

SuePurblybilt · 09/09/2011 21:42

Jesus loves me. Oh yes, he does. Cos the Bible tells me so.

And, secure in that knowledge, I am happily wasting my life talking to this shower of bastards. Innit.

SarahStratton · 09/09/2011 21:44

Jesus said 'suffer little children to come unto me'. Us Bjullying Bjtches are just helping them along. Innit.

UrsulaBuffayHere2Help · 09/09/2011 21:47

Blessed are the MNers
