AIBU to feel sorry for the people who spend half their lives on mumsnet?

I lurk a bit at work ( prenteding to be busy, saves me making the tea ) and have started the odd thread here and there seeking advice, BuT my god I feel sorry for the posters who are on here day in day out for hours.
I know some people are socially isolated and I'm sure they get a lot from mumsnet, but it is rather sad when it becomes your main source of adult interaction, and by choice for many I imagin. I know mumsnet has one million members, but it's always the same names coming up in active conversations. These forums should be a place where you drop into now and then, not somewhere you rely on for friendship.

AIBU ?

Hully - it was a Wanker's meet up!

You would be more than welcome to come to my gaff, anytime.

Hullygully · 09/09/2011 19:50

It's too late now

Lunch at mine, Hully? Quiche & salad do you?

Hullygully · 09/09/2011 20:05

Mushroom quiche?

SpringHeeledJack · 09/09/2011 20:07

oh someone kick my fat arse off this thread, please

I was supposed to be making a risotto, like, an hour ago

ToriaPumpkinPasty · 09/09/2011 20:15

Having read yesterday's thread in it's entirety and then this one, I'm not going to defend my MNetting, but I will say that I made some of the best friends I've ever had on another forum and have hopefully made a few new ones since joining a completely open thread in a completely open online community quiche.

And I don't care if I'm popular in RL, or even if I'm popular on here, as long as when I need it I have someone to talk to.

So pity me. Go on.

And if I don't want to fuck a duck can I still play with the popular girls normal people? Or will I be shunned?

I don't feel sorry for the MNers I feel sorry for any little kids in their care.

BecauseImWorthIt · 09/09/2011 20:42

Oh how patronising and passive aggressive is that, tralalala!

Not all of us have 'little kids' in our care.

NeverKnowinglyUnderDoug · 09/09/2011 20:44

FFS tralalala, its not like I'm using their poor prone little bodies as a table for my laptop!

Footstool yes, Laptop no.

"Mummy mummy pwease can we get up now, we're getting all tired" Its like a soothing mantra to my ears.

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 09/09/2011 20:44

Oh FGS.

VivaLeBeaver · 09/09/2011 20:44

Well I like mums net, I don't watch tv so use the Internet for entertainment instead.

I don't have small kids. Just one who's either at school or doing her own thing a lot of the time.

I'm not here all day. But I pop in and out several times.

SuePurblybilt · 09/09/2011 20:47

Perhaps some of us are such fabulous parents we don't need all day to do it in, tralalalalalalalal? Wink

Just when I thought sanity had been restored....

GloriaVanderbilt · 09/09/2011 20:48

I am NEVER here

I have a trained webbot that posts for me

OracleInaCoracle · 09/09/2011 20:51

Oooh, I wondered when the "won't someone think of the children?" refrain would start up.

Tralala, where are the poor little kids in your care now?

UrsulaBuffayHere2Help · 09/09/2011 20:51

I do too, especially the one I'm using as a foot stool. The one by the fire seems ok, if a little red and smoky...

ChippingIn · 09/09/2011 20:55

I haven't read all of the thread - I don't have that much time

ChippingIn · 09/09/2011 20:56

a complete & utter twat with the empathy of a gnat and the ego of a toddler.
