You are not old enough to get married if you want to wear one of these

OP posts:
mistressploppy · 09/09/2011 19:47

Aw, Lady, I think that's a little sad. Never too old to dream and all that. Who's being victimised here?

LadyOfTheManor · 09/09/2011 19:48

The poor little girls who want to be princesses and rescued by fucking princes while their mothers buy into this bullshit.

mistressploppy · 09/09/2011 19:57

Ah

startail · 09/09/2011 20:10

When i got married i was a student of course I wanted to wear a long White dress on my wedding day. A fairly simple one due both to finances and taste, but a proper full length centre if attention dress.
Now as a stay at home mum, I live in mum boots and jeans. I rarely get to go out and dress up. So DHs black tie works does are great, once a year I get to put on a full length ball gown and dance the night away and just for a moment I'm both a little girl and an an elegant lady.

startail · 09/09/2011 20:12

Now why has auto correct, corrected some I's and not other i's?????

Chrononaut · 09/09/2011 20:26

ive seen people get married in worse
YABU. besides, dose it honestly matter what people wear?

AWimbaWay · 10/09/2011 08:49

Gloria, I'm only 5ft1 so the dress was a rather more demure length on me. I hadn't accounted for how huge my pregnancy breasts would grow when buying it though, so perhaps not quite as demure looking as it should have been!

mrjellykeepskidsquiet · 10/09/2011 16:51

I think they are quite nice actually.

LunarRose · 10/09/2011 17:03

I think they're gorgeous, and I'm not a wedding fan

although I am a huuuggggeee disney fan!!!

MorelliOrRanger · 10/09/2011 17:07

I really like some of them too - my fave is either the Jasmine or Ariel one - both very pretty.

I am definately old enough to get married thanks. :)

I felt beautiful and like a princess on my wedding day, if that is so wrong - shoot me!

missymarmite · 11/09/2011 17:55

Actually, looking at them makes me want to get married again. Even though I'm single. Sad

The only one I don't like is #2, the sleeping beauty one. When I got married it was a bargain basement wedding. As I get older I find myself wishing I could have a big flash fairytale wedding, and be a princess for a day.

In fact, I might take a page out of Muriel's book and go round the bridal shops telling the assistants I'm getting married, and make up a long story about my dream man; tall, dark, handsome, who has swept me off my feet (he's also very very strong-to be able to carry me), and the wonderful home and beautiful well behaved kids we are going to have...etc...

YellowWallpaper · 11/09/2011 18:03

If you forget that they are named after disney princesses they look like dresses from any bridal shop, some pretty, some not. I like the Jasmine one

noddyholder · 11/09/2011 18:04

What does feel like a princess mean?

begonyabampot · 11/09/2011 18:08

feel like a princess? suppose I mean to be the centre of attention, wear something and feel important (even for just one day).

begonyabampot · 11/09/2011 18:08

'wear something beautiful'

noddyholder · 11/09/2011 18:15

Really? wow I didn't think anyone apart from some little girls bought into that whole princess thing

OpinionatedMum · 11/09/2011 18:18

I actually quite like ariel.

OpinionatedMum · 11/09/2011 18:18

.... and I'm not at all princessified!

begonyabampot · 11/09/2011 18:21

I don't buy into the 'whole princess' thing - anyone less like a 'princess' than me would be hard to find. It was just a phrase to describe that for one day, the bride gets to feel special but i think you know that and are just being sarky for the hell of it.

nodrog · 11/09/2011 18:23

I like Jasmine's frock. Blush

begonyabampot · 11/09/2011 18:24

If i had to pick from these, would be Jasmin's or Cinderella's for me.

noddyholder · 11/09/2011 18:25

Yes I am Smile.
