christmas stuff in shops

AIBU to expect shops to hold off selling christmas gear til at least after halloween as i thoght i was well behind with the year when i saw in our co-op mince pies on sale HELP (fed up as have no )

It bugs me also, but it maximises profit. I adore Christmas but don't give in to anything related to it until December... I zone it out for the rest of the time.

I have no wine either. That pisses me off more than pretty much anything else tbh!

Christmas stuff has been sold in Shops from September for about the last 10+ years.

It's usually all last years tat stock though.

I have been eyeing up the Lint Chocolate reindeer in Sainsburys this evening.

I know, it depresses me too, almost fainted in morrisons waitrose today when I saw that the "seasonal" aisle did not in fact contain pumpkins, witch costumes and fireworks, but fucking crackers. (Of the christmas variety, not ryvitas).

If nobody bought it, the shops wouldn't stock it.

So it's not the shops you need to get cross with, it's the maniacs who are buying Christmas stuff already.

If we all held off until December, then so would the shops.

I wouldn't like to eat mince pies at Christmas which had been bought at the beginning of September. They'd be stale, surely?

EndoplasmicReticulum I can safely say that they won't be stale, I found some in my cupboard last december from the year before, and nobody died, or commented that they were stale. I didn't much like those particular guests, hence they got the shit ones and not my gorgeous homemade pies... but no one died.

Endo, the mince pies don't get stale, they get eaten. Very quickly.

I love it. I get really excited about Christmas and start thinking about it in August every year. I make myself wait until October to start buying pressies though.

I've never tested that in my house, we eat them. But surely the pastry would go manky?

I don't think you could eat a creme egg with a spoon unless you found a really tiny spoon. Creme eggs have shrunk.
