Just went on the CHB website to double check that my CHB will be getting paid tomorrow, as expected (completely cash strapped this month!!) and to my dismay it is coming up with a date in two week time!!Thats six weeks since the last payment...why???
Have looked back at the last four months payments and I haven't been paid early so why oh why is it going to be full two weeks late this month arghhh!!!

CHB?

WoofToYouTooLady · 05/09/2011 19:48

child benefit, T

Northernlurkerr · 05/09/2011 19:51

How much is the payment - does it say? Is it 6 weeks or 4? It's supposed to paid every 4 weeks so ring uop and shout at them!

Takitezee · 05/09/2011 19:53

YANBU then. Mine gets paid every four weeks. I didn't realise you could check when it's due to go in, I just assume it will.

There's nothing you can do until tomorrow and phone them to find out what happened.

TheOriginalNutcracker · 05/09/2011 19:56

Ah ha, i am having a similar problem. There is a thread in chat somewhere.

I changed banks so let cb people know but this week i haven't had a payment into either account, and when i look online it says i won't get one until 3rd October, when i should get it every monday. I get mine weekly you see.

They have cocked up somewhere and you can't speak to anyone either because their 'helpline' doesn't let you.

whackamole · 05/09/2011 19:59

Call your bank. They can check a report (I assume - where I work does) that will tell you what is due in and out of your account tomorrow.

AryaStark · 05/09/2011 20:00

Mine was due today and isn't going to be paid for a fortnight as well. Then every four weeks from then as they have been reviewing accounts. Does this mean that people will lose out on two weeks' money?

5inthebed · 05/09/2011 20:02

Is there something going on with the CB for them to not pay on the right date? I ask as I pay my council tax on the same day via SO and don;t have enough in to cover it.

Northernlurkerr · 05/09/2011 20:10

Mine has been paid today. (phew)

Northernlurkerr · 05/09/2011 20:12

Sorry - that sounds smug. I just meant - mine has been paid so there is obviously not a universal problem- and obviously I am pleased about that!

Talker2010 · 05/09/2011 20:13

I changed my details as Teen Girl is changing schools for sixth form and mine shifted back 2 weeks too ... grrr

Mine is due next week ie w/c 12th but is showing as due on w/c 19th. There seems to be a pattern. Does everyones show as being due that week?

check here

AryaStark · 05/09/2011 20:18

Mine was the 19th, yes. What are they up to? I'd ring but it's impossible to get through.

Might be a website issue where it is defaulting to w/c 19th rather than actual changes to the date

Shakirasma · 05/09/2011 20:22

Wonder if it is a website issue to. Mine is due tomorrow but site says it is due w/c 19th

desperateforadvice · 05/09/2011 20:24

Thanks everyone for the replies

I have not changes any details at all since DS2 was born over a year ago so its not that IYKWIM. Seems totally random, was only double checking to beextra careful before going grocery shopping tomorrow :-(.

What on eaarth does 'reviewing cases' mean really, to do this without even telling the affected people is really really poor.

Luckily we wont starve thanks to the credit card but many many people will go though hardship due to this for no fault of their own.

Am deffo going to complain about this!!

TheOriginalNutcracker · 05/09/2011 20:29

Mine is saying my next payment isn't until 3rd Oct when i normally get it every week. I am going to really struggle without it as i use it for food shopping.

They won't even give you the option to hold when you ring.

JollySergeantJackrum · 05/09/2011 20:31

Mine is showing w/c 19th, but is due that week.

This is all very strange.

whackamole · 05/09/2011 20:31

Looks like it is a pretty universal problem if they won't even answer the phone.

I wonder if it has something to do with the bank holiday? I get mine 4 weekly on a Tuesday so not normally affected by things like that, but I will check I think!

Tonksforthememories · 05/09/2011 20:34

I checked too as mine's due tomorrow, and it's saying w/c 19th too. We won't struggle thankfully, but it'll really bugger up my system as i get CB and CTC on alternate fortnights!

5inthebed · 05/09/2011 20:34

Gosh, panicking now as mine is due tomorrow and SO will bounce if it doesn;t come in. Bank charges and totally skint :(

Website says due in w/c 3 October!

fedupofnamechanging · 05/09/2011 20:38

Mine is due on the 12th and site says w/c 12th and that it is usually paid on a monday or tuesday.

LineRunner · 05/09/2011 20:38

Bloody hell! I hope all these late payments are backdated. But the bloody nightmare of budgets and bank charges, FFS.

Time to email MPs. (I emailed mine over the Nadine Dorries saga and got a reply next day.)
