do you have a certain seat or place you always sit.

i'm sitting in dhs spot on the sofa, as i'm using his computer, and i can actually relax on this spot.

plus i have my spot at the dinner table too

I am sat in my spot right now. It's a 3 seater, and I'm at one end, where I can see out the window down to the garden; the telly; DD1's bedroom; toilet and hallway. Prime position!

talkingnonsense · 05/09/2011 14:37

Only if you aspire to be Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory- but fair do's if you do!

I have my spot on the little 2-seater sofa - my laptop lives on the arm nest to me, and I tend to curl up and hog the other seat too Grin The DCs know to move if they're sitting here and I come in the room!

LadyBeagleEyes · 05/09/2011 14:39

Absolutely.
And if my son, dog or cats sit on it, they have to move as soon as I want it.
It's the best spot, as it's opposite the telly, beside the heater and the best lamp for reading and mning.
And it's mine all mine.

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 05/09/2011 14:39

nest? next, that should be.

TrillianAstra · 05/09/2011 14:39

What happens if you sit on the wrong spot?

Do you levitate above the sofa, your arse unable to hit the cushion? :o

Or do you just feel so uncomfortable that you fidget and fidget and have to get up?

PersonalClown · 05/09/2011 14:40

Are you Sheldon in disguise??

Seems TalkingNonsense and I have the same suspicions.

Kayano · 05/09/2011 14:42

I have my spot but am unsure if the airflow and temperature are just right there a laSheldon

I do always have to knock for my friend penny 3 times though

ScarletLady01 · 05/09/2011 14:43

I'm like this...I'm a bit neurotic. I found Big Ban hilarious and I find myself identifying with the Geeky One quite a lot.

I have a spot on the sofa and if I'm in a new place I can't sit with my back to a door...

ScarletLady01 · 05/09/2011 14:44

Sorry that should read Big Bang...can you edit posts on here?

StuckUpTheFarawayTree · 05/09/2011 14:46

Big Bang? Never heard of it. Am I missing something good?

SheldonsBazinga · 05/09/2011 14:47

I have a favourite seat but don't mind sitting somewhere else.

mummymccar · 05/09/2011 14:48

Sure you aren't Sheldon?

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 05/09/2011 14:49

Yep, I do too. Corner sofa. Corner is MINE. All guests avoid it, dp tries it occasionally but one look is all it takes.

Straight line to tv. Brilliant view through french doors to garden for dc watching, Near radiator, lamp and just soooo damn comfy! Also perfect height for resting the laptop, when its fixed, oh and near plug for phone/laptop charging and shelf for resting drink.

My kids think its funny to rach for my spot when I enter the from, luckily at 2 and 4 they're easily removed :)

MY SPOT!!!!

mummymccar · 05/09/2011 14:50

StuckUp - The Big Bang Theory. Yes, you are missing something very good.

carriedababi · 05/09/2011 14:50

What happens if you sit on the wrong spot?

i can't seem to be able to use the laptop properly.
if i sit on dhs spot, i have to turn slightly to the left and its awkward and makes me ache.

ive moved back into my spot now.

Big Bang Theory is an American sitcom about geeks, featuring the aforementioned Dr Sheldon Cooper, my role model. Highly recommended - it's on Channel 4/E4 at strange times of the day showing random episodes from several different series.

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 05/09/2011 14:51

*race for my spot when I enter the room.

SheldonsBazinga · 05/09/2011 14:54
LadyBeagleEyes · 05/09/2011 14:59

It seems that Sheldon explains it very well, actually Smile
I've never watched it but it makes perfect sense to me.

UsAndTwo · 05/09/2011 14:59

Yes as I have short legs and get very uncomfortable on the sofas my DH insisted on buying. I absolutely hate it when my FIL comes for the weekend and takes it over. I would never dream of sitting in his spot when we go to their house!

SnakeOnCrack · 05/09/2011 15:02

I have to always have the same spot on the sofa, it's the same as my Mum's though which causes some issues when I'm back home (she wins).

Jodianna · 05/09/2011 15:06

I'm married to Sheldon Cooper, he even has 'The Green Lantern' Tee shirt, I kid you not. As well as 'his' spot on the couch, etc.
We watch it as a family and the kids point out all the Sheldon things that Dad does. I have to watch it on reply as it can get quite noisy!
And yes, You are missing a brilliant programme!

LaWeasel · 05/09/2011 15:22

I do have a spot, to my eternal shame. I secretly feel annoyed if anyone else sits there.
