To think the majority of blue badge bashing threads are made up ?

Mainly because they seem to be the in thing to moan about at times, ie 1 starts and 50 or so people then seem to have blue badge issues.

Plus in the years I've had on this earth I've yet to witness witness any issues with blue badge users, nor as a blue badge holder have we used it to park on the roof of a double decker.

I'm quite an open minded cheese too, I even witnessed a scrap on a bus once.......but that's the risk I take when I use the number 3

I dunno, I just have visions of a load of wild haired harridans, red eyed and foaming as they tap out a ad of bile fuelled by yet another sleepless night thinking of people who have something they can't have, driven slowly mad from years of adding up blue badge holders saved parking charges and playing spot the badge adorned car on the double yellows.

YANBU. I have been driving for 2 years, DH for 8 and we have never had an issue with blue badges.

If a blue badge holder parks in the P&C then fair dues, they need it more than me.

But you are 'troll hunting' as is the parlance on here. Remember, no matter how made up, inconsistent, buzzwordy or unlikely sounding a post is, it might well be true!!

Half the stuff on AIBU is either made up, exaggerated or had salient facts left out. But you can't really say that. Trolls have rights too.

Speaking for myself, I have never been yelled at by an old lady for breast feeding. Or screamed at by a schoolgate mum. Or ordered to wear a specific outfit to a wedding. Or witnessed any of my SILs feeding their kids junk food whilst loudly decrying my own parenting skills.

They just don't sound v likely scenarios, do they.

I tend to stay out of discussions on the subject. My Mum's a Blue Badge holder and she's never had any issues.

hmmmm.... not sure. I think people really do hate people with disabilities and think that badges are given out willy-nilly and that people abuse them.

Dunno bout the ties so much, bil once got a colour sample snt with invite and a note off his niece saying she wanted all family members in the same tie for the photos........he didn't come on MN tho....instead he went wearing a flashing homer Simpson tie @ my suggestion of course

Yanbu (but there are people I know who come out with this crap about who has blue badges but yet to see anyone moan). Cheese re bus scrap- I am waiting with interest the verdict on current buggy rage case that is in court and reported in paper .

As from Monday I am planning on not leaving the house at all until April.

I'll be driving by the end of the year, I have a blue badge and I don't 'look disabled'.
I'll report back if I have any problems.

Lol@Willy nilly giving out if hour badges, anyone who thinks they are given out easily should go and read the criteria for a blue badge online.

I think the majority of threads here are made up. I think many of the threads are written by people who've either pinched the idea from what they've seen elsewhere or what they've seen in the street, then they embellish it and put themselves as the central character in the starring role...

It's nice to see your name at the top of a long thread, and once you've been on here for a bit it's easy to work out how to acheive that.

Oh yes, and I'm always nodding at Worra when she says that she's never seen the tutting, head-shaking and under-breath comments in her time as a mother... neither have I. I've come to the conclusion that some posters are delusional and/or need to lay off the trippy pills...

My mum has a blue badge, good days and bad days and she only uses it during bad days. The first person to tut or say something at her will be broken into small pieces..

Yes, MN almost makes me scared to go out, for fear that someone will make comments to me and my DD, especially when we get her blue badge.

Aaarghh, we've had problems. So many people have had a go, funny though, I ignore them and when I get dds wheelchair out of the boot they go away. Never once had an apology though!

My DD doesn't have a wheelchair as she has hers for behavioural reasons, so people might well have a go at us.

I don't know why people get so upset re supermarket spaces though, when we didn't have one we always managed to find a space, and if you are able bodied its no big deal to find your way through a car park.

If I was in hearing of that, Jodianna, I'd say something to the person who commented to you. It's completely unacceptable.

Blue badge-abusers can be treated in the same way as trolls here - report them to the issuing council. I wouldn't, I could never be sure that I'd done the right thing and it's none of my business, but better disbelievers do that rather than tutt or comment to the badge holder.

We have 4 in the family with severe autism and have had issues / nastiness from scummier members of society. Certainly not the norm tho and I s'pose we stick out a fair bit mainly because the kids are older and approaching teens, can't think of any incidents when they were tots tho.

I have had problems from people without BBs who think we shouldnt have one either.

But I have never, ever seen an owner of a BB leap out of a car and sprint laughing into Sainsburys.

And that happens all the time on MNs.

I do have to say that people in Scotland don't tend to make comments to others that often, for some reason, luckily.

No issues when using the blue badge yet tho, altho we once had a bloke moaning we got priority boarding on a plane...... Can't say I lost any sleep over it tho.
