AIBU?

WIBU to call an ambulance?

Am currently pg with twins, and have just had the familiar labour twinges (nothing too strong yet), and I'm starting to worry. Have called the hospital who said to wait until I'm established.

DP and DSes are currently in the lake district visiting GPs, so I'm staying with my friend for the weekend who lives in a lovely, but fairly isolated, converted farmhouse. She is at work at the moment, and I'm feeling nervous because she doesn't get back until about 10pm tonight. :(

WIBU to call an ambulance to get me to hospital if I need to go before my friend gets back?

Would anyone be able to just reassure me please? Am feeling really scared, my CS was scheduled for 3 and a half weeks time, this just feels too early and I am feeling very alone right now.

I'm not a troll, I just need some help :(

I keep checking back here too.... I'm hoping that the lack of news means everything went wonderfully and she is now so busy with a bonny baby that she has forgotten all about Mumsnet....

That's right - I had forgotten she was expecting twins. Well, that is OBVIOUSLY why she doesn't have time to post. Hopefully.

twinges of labour - call a taxi not an ambulance

an ambulance is not a maternity taxi

Activate, did you read the thread?! In labour at 8 weeks prem with twins you'd be mad not to call an ambulance. Sometimes people take the 'pregnancy is not an illness' idea to ridiculously nonsensical extremes. Hope you and your babies are ok op!

Of course you can call an ambulance.

TBH I don't think a taxi would be too impressed at having to risk ferrying a woman in labour to a distnat hospital anyway.

Good luck.

Hi all, just a quick update.

After I rang my midwife, ended up getting a blue lights ambulance trip to the hospital, EMCS and ended up with two beautiful (but very tiny) baby girls.

Poppy was born at 16:51, weighing 4lbs 8oz
Grace was born at 16:54, weighing 4lbs 2oz

Both are absolutely gorgeous, they are still in hospital but are getting stronger every day.

I am just about recovering from the shock but have got a lovely DP looking after me for the next two weeks!

We have yet to think of middle names, though.

Thank you ever so much to those who reassured me when I was stressing out and really not thinking straight, you are all stars!
