Maybe I am just too damn nosy...

OP posts:
AgentZigzag · 28/08/2011 12:30

Are you talking about any in particular?

Empusa · 28/08/2011 12:33

I always wonder that, especially when it's a poster who is usually very reasonable!

mumwhatnothing · 28/08/2011 12:46

Any and all messages. I hate not knowing what someone said to get up mumsnets nose. Also, the ones deleted by the poster themselves. I wish they would PM me before deleting so I can read them Grin

OP posts:
ZonkedOut · 28/08/2011 12:54

Message deleted by mumsnet.

LineRunner · 28/08/2011 12:54

Many seem to be posts that are accuse people of faking; as well as posts that the posters ask to be withdrawn because they suspect they may have posted on a thread started by a faker.

The rest tend to be in the 'Why dont you fuck off?' category.

Hoto · 28/08/2011 12:57

the only one I've had deleted was when a joke I made about someone potentially being a troll didn't come across as hilariously as I'd hoped Blush

I steer well clear of the subject now!

ppsst MAtt & Zonked, I think HQ like to capitalise themselves. Ahem.

mumwhatnothing · 28/08/2011 13:06

lol. I know I am too nosey....everyone tells me so. I just feel I have missed out on something juicy. Are there really that many fakers/ trolls on here?

If you want to find out, you can always put the thread address into Google, and when the thread comes up in the results, click on the "Cached" version.

If the "cache" coincides with a time when the deleted comment is still visible (and has not been over-written), you will be able to read it.

Makes one think about writing things on MN, doesn't it?

P.S. Use Google's "advanced search" page; there's a box for searching within a certain site or domain.

The Google cache manoeuvre is how I know who Xenia is supposed to be.

Hoto · 28/08/2011 13:23

crazynanna · 28/08/2011 13:27

I have seen a thread 4 or 5 pages long where a one poster's (can't remember who) every single post was deleted by Mumsnet Grin I would have loved to have read those!

plupervert · 28/08/2011 13:34

Grin at CSI. See, some forensic tools are available to all of us!

PinotsWolefCubs · 28/08/2011 14:03

I was deleted once.

REBEL.

youarekidding · 28/08/2011 14:20

Pinot Grin

I must try harder as have never been deleted.

I love the cache search idea - although up until the op mentioned it I didn't care that much. Grin

Normally when every post of a poster has been deleted it's because, the person is a troll, they have been banned for trolling or a poster has left for some reason and has specific and real need for all posting history to be deleted.

Pagwatch · 28/08/2011 14:20

I have only been deleted a few times. But I am normally quite dull nice.

BecauseImWorthIt · 28/08/2011 14:23

Being deleted for being nice seems a tad harsh, Pag.

Pagwatch · 28/08/2011 14:24

I know!

Tee2072 · 28/08/2011 14:37

I recently asked for MNHQ to delete something I had written because I realized I had no wish to speak to the poster I had replied to.

I wish I could hide the poster.

PinotsWolefCubs · 28/08/2011 14:39

Ooh I'd like a Hide Poster option too.
