I've always been quite anti smoking had a gran who dies of lung cancer, but since I was pregnant with DD and now that I'm out and about with her it really angers me when people are smoking in public areas, if it were up to me I'd ban smoking in all public places ie high streets, door ways to, restaurants, childrens play areas etc and don't even get me started on the bit outside the hospital and make people smoke in smoking rooms or back streets. I got abuse from a woman the other day who came over to speak to DD and puffed her smoke all over her when I asked her not to.

"I expect what that poster meant was SMOKING is useless activity. Not that everyone who smokes ought to not exist! Really not hard to work that out!"

How do you know that? It's not what she wrote. And when people posted rejecting her views, you called them on it.

Yes, sardine. I do think they were clever. I think they would have been clever if they hadn't smoked too. Hence pointless argument.

But the list was there to refute the suggestion that smokers have no use.

Not to say that they were clever because they smoked.

And Lassy has continued posting and has at no point (as far as I can see) said that she didn't mean it like that.

What's it to you if people smoke? Apart from occasionally having to sit near them in a cafe or pass them on the street I can't see it has any impact on your life at all.

I did not write that smokers have no use. I am not that person who wrote it. Neither did I mention cars, despite your erroneous assertion that I did.

For 'the final time, I do not think everyone who smokes is useless (or indeed that everyone who doesn't smoke is useful!) . Clever people are clever whether they smoke or not. Thick people are thick whether they smoke or not. Smoking, however, is a useless activity.

Actually I think the OP has played a blinder here. Start a thread to stir up the smokers in righteous indignation, they get more agitated = smoking more= paying more revenue. Brilliant!

Toni, fatal flaw in your thinking. As a smoker I very rarely become agitated. Am pretty chilled most of the time....

Nicotine depletion causes agitation, it's a fact, the calming effect you feel when you light up is only calming the agitation that smoking is causing you.
