AIBU to think this is yobbish and disgusting behaviour by my DH's mate?

My dh went on an overnight stay to a city near us for a lads night out. They were all going to watch a band play, outdoor concert and then on to a pub or club. I know all the guys he was with, they were all in school together, they are all 42 or thereabouts and either married or in permanent relationships.

When they eventually left the club and walked back to their hotel, (for more drinking) one of dh's mates could contain himself and peed in a shop delivery entrance. I think this is disgusting. I could accept it if he was really desperate and went down an alleyway to do it against a wall, still yuk, but not anywhere near as bad as doing it in a shop doorway!)

My husband thinks this is hilarious. He and another friend stood guard for the peeing mate. I think this is nearly as bad as the deed itself and i am a bit pissed off with him for being part of this and thinking its all a laugh. Its yobbish and antisocial - or AIBU?

I thought this was going to be abit more exciting than some pissed up 40+yr old having a tiddle in a doorway.

It's not nice but having a willy means you get to wee in lots of places.

Irishchic · 20/08/2011 18:48

but just because you can wee anywhere doesnt meant you should!!!

Agrees with pancake

I at least expected to read about a bit of extra marital shagging Grin

catgirl1976 · 20/08/2011 18:50

Agree. It's not naice but its pretty standard drunk male behaviour.

MixedClassBaby · 20/08/2011 18:51

It's a bit skank but not really all that outrageous. If he'd crapped on someone's car bonnet, that'd be disgusting.

Pancakeflipper · 20/08/2011 18:51

Worra - did you get to the end of paragraph 1 and think "hey ho, here comes the one night stand...." ? I did, think I have spent too many years on here... I need more than a tiddle in a doorway to shock me.

eurochick · 20/08/2011 18:53

Not pleasant but not at all surprising. Hence all the pissoirs that pop up out of the pavement in London in the evening. Why women seem in most cases capable of holding it while men have to do free range pissing is beyond me.

Yuck. Quite why men have to be so uncouth escapes me - you don't see women pissing all over the streets. But really horrid to pee all over a shop doorway, no need at all for that however desperate he was.

FreudianSlipper · 20/08/2011 18:57

think i would be more shocked that my 42 year old husband found it hilarious, mildly amused while pretending to be disgusted yes but hilarious Hmm

i thought you husband might have caught him cross dressing while entertaining a rent boy in the hotel gardens that would have been a shock

ScarlettIsWalking · 20/08/2011 19:04

i wouldn't like that at all

foxinsocks · 20/08/2011 19:06

Central London smells like a giant pissoir on a Monday morning because of all the peeing in doorways! Is foul!

mayorquimby · 20/08/2011 19:53

i find it odder that your husband thinks it's hilarious. It's just so common, non-descript and devoid of humour that I fail to see what he finds funny.

Oh i piss outside all the time btw so yanbu.

izzywhizzyletsgetbusy · 20/08/2011 20:35

The OP only knows what her dh has seen fit to tell her about his overnight jaunt, Slipper.
'
It may be that cross-dressing, rent boys, hotel gardens, and back alleyways are yet to be revealed Wink

lovelyredwine · 20/08/2011 20:35

I agree that it's pretty minging really. He wouldn't be impressed if someone pissed in the doorway of his house, so why do it in the doorway of someone's shop? If you're that desperate, go down an alley or piss in the gutter.

My DH has a mate who is a police officer who once saw someone doing that and made him take his shirt off and clean the piss up with it.

diggingintheribs · 20/08/2011 20:43

I knew someone who excitedly pointed out where he had pissed on a homeless guy. That is shocking yobbish and uncouth.

Weeing in a doorway is yuck. I also think people letting their dog wee on bin bags is yuck - some poor rubbish collector has to touch that

manticlimactic · 20/08/2011 20:46

At least he didn't have a dump. That would have been bordering on disgusting Grin

Irishchic · 20/08/2011 22:24

Firstly I think the act itself is disgusting and yobbish, especially for well educated, supposedly right thinking politically correct men in their forties.

But more worrying for me is the fact that my dh thinks that this behaviour is actually "hilarious." We have 3 sons, live in Ireland where binge drinking and associated undesirable behaviour is unfortunately all too common in society.

What is my dh going to teach our sons about this sort of thing when they reach drinking age? or is he just going to say to them that sure it is all a bit of a laugh and part of what being a lad is all about...Hmm

Good God - why do you care about this??

Sofabitch · 20/08/2011 22:28

I haven't pissed in a doorway whilst drunk since I was 16 Blush

If you freak out this much over pissing. Imagine what he's too scared to tell you. Grin

Irishchic · 20/08/2011 22:31

Sofabitch - God only knows.

But if you havent done it since you were 16 then maybe that is an indication that it is pretty immature behaviour for a 42 year old man...

Btw the answers here seem pretty divided, so obviously to some people, inc me, this is shitty behaviour and to others it is nothing to worry about.

Different strokes i guess..
