..to ask has anyone ever witnessed someone being outed on here??

Ive always wondered if anyone bitch of a SIL has ever replied to a thread about themselves???

I know it happened on a different mums forum i use.

Has anyone witnessed it on here??

I don't think anyone I know in RL uses MN. I would hate to be outed.

I would be very easily outed by anyone who knew me it is why I name change frequently. I don't tend to slag people off on here but I would be embarrased by the private bumsex threads I have posted on.

not sure why it is badform to out xenia if she regulary outs herself as you guys say.

Unless she is actually a sahm who weaves her own lentils and has never used a "day orphanage" for her children, in which case I need a PM now!

Yes I have come across Xenia on a couple of threads. One where she was being particularly arsey about sahm. Could someone pm me please-not really that interested in knowing her real name(though if she regularly outs herself whats the problem?) but would like to know why she seems so notorious.

I've come across Xenia several times. Most recently she basically told me that I was failing my children by not living in London and by not earning enough to send them to private school (we live in a very rural area and I work PT for a charity).

I once posted a very ranty post about my workplace round about election time, the next day journos were at the front desk. Could have been a coincidence but begged MNHQ to delete, they did.

I tell no-one my user name, by mate found me on here but has been sworn to secrecy.

Because if Xenia wants to come on here and say her name - thats up to her - not that I think she's ever been that obvious.

But it is not fair to pm people with her real life name - quite surprised people are doing it and don't realise that its a bit off.

I wouldn't want someone to out me no matter if I'd posted stuff that had made who I was pretty obvious.

Its just a bit sneaky isn't it really.

I'm pretty sure that my lovely DIL is on here which is one of the reasons that I don't post too much and I stay well away from pregnancy and childbirth aside from the fact that I'm far too old for either of those. I do hope that I don't end up as the subject of an AIBU re MIL although I think that one of the things that I've learnt from mumsnet is how to be a decent MIL.

I think it's only Xenia's right to pm her rl details to other posters if she wishes. I wouldn't like it done to me, nor would many others here I'm sure.

It is so not on to PM Xenia's details to folk....why is she fair game? Because she owns an island and has forthright views Hmm It doesn't make her any less vulnerable than someone on here on a low income etc.

She's not famous - she is high up in her field.

What annoys me is threads that consist of "PM me please" over and over again. The screamingly logical answer is to PM the person you want the information off and not clog the thread up with "PM me" messages that make it boring as shit to read.

Also- whether Xenia has outed herself or not, I don't think it's very um...cricket to "PM me her real name" like its a blind items thread. I happen to disagree with about 90% of what Xenia posts, but that doesn't make it right.

I was very upset with the mother of my DS gf. We had ended up having to foster the poor girl and the mother was not contributing in any way. Even though it was over Christmas and her birthday. She was utterly out of order in so many ways and this poor girl was in bits (it was not a normal tale of stroppy teen v fed up mum - much more serious).
Anyway I was having a rant on a closed facebook group and one of the members managed to track down this woman and I realised that I 'knew' her sister from another forum!

It was bizarre and alarming because I didnt want any info being disclosed about the girl's situation but I was very upset at the whole thing.

Luckily my online friends were sensible and we managed to calm down the couple who were out for blood at the woman's antics. We deleted the thread but it was a close one.

Personally I would have been happy to tell the mother everything to her face but I didnt want to upset the girl.

The internet is a weird place.

I was noticed by an acquaintance who friends had laughingly called my stalked. They were right. Have never commented on friends or family but lots of stuff about me she wouldn't have known. Again nothing I was in theory worried about but some very personal and quite unusual stuff, she used the detail to talk to our plentiful shared colleagues and friends about me as if she was a good friend. She was odd and I felt sorry for her obut utterly repulsed by what she had done.

Sorry - haven't mean to piss anyone off. I got the idea from earlier in the thread that Xenia was a fictional person, a regular MNer who changed name and created a fantasy character. Obviously I got it wrong...

Well before anybody ruptures themselves at the sight of this thread can I point out that there is no PM - or if there is I haven't had it Grin I reckon a PM with Xenia's real identity would be as fictional as the rest of her!
