I am frightened. I was fine when my boys were awake now I am panicking.

Don't feel a tit. It's understandable.

I'm too tired to cry. Helicopters are back.

I am angry.

Have another cigarette. Find a good film to watch/book to read.
Drink something calming (I'm on warm milk with toffee sauce poured in Grin)

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/08/2011 01:10

I will be fine I know. But it hasn't stopped me panicking.

I am worried about my brothers and my sister. Her road is terrible my youngest nephew keeps waking up just as DS2 does.

I upset myself when I thought, "I am glad my dad isn't here or my grandparents"

yeah i'm pretty pissed off. swaggering youth think they can rule the world with their ignorance and violence. yeah, right.

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/08/2011 01:12

I am on coffee, too scared to sleep its a joke.

My neighbour and I are talking on FB and when I say neighbour I mean 2 foot steps across from my front door is hers Grin

You silly sods. Why not one of you - step across- to keep each other company? Grin

Set up a distracting popcorn/film night Smile

I should prob get off twitter and stop watching tv but I cant, I feel like I need to keep abreast of where and what is going on.

Feel very vulnerable as I know if anything happens and I needed to call 999 they would prob be too busy elsewhere.

DogsBestFriend · 09/08/2011 01:21

Fuck! Just learned that 30 youths with faces covered have been chased into the station 1 min from where my mum and dad live and where DD is holidaying atm. Family were planning to go on the train to Hampton Court tomorrow... they'll be okay in the morning but now I'm worried about what they may face when they come home.

Was banking on the fact that there are no "big" shops where they live, a shortish walk from Brixton, so they would be okay.

breadandbutterfly · 09/08/2011 01:22

Thinking of you all. Have a drink on me.

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/08/2011 01:24

DogsBestFriend · 09/08/2011 01:30

Between Camberwell and Brixton, TLES.

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/08/2011 01:33

DBF Hope they are ok tonight!!!

OP posts:
DogsBestFriend · 09/08/2011 01:36

Thanks, TLES, I;m sure they will be. They'll have been in bed for hours if I know my parents!

I hope you're okay too. I was living where they are as a youngster during the Brixton riots. Scary stuff but we all survived... just a pity that some haven't learned from it. :(

Try to get some sleep lovey, don't stress.

Jux · 09/08/2011 01:42

Thinking of you. I used to live on East Street (Taplow House), just off the Walworth Rd. God that's horrifying. I loved that place.

DD was scared to go to bed, even though we're 150 miles away in Devon., so your little ones are being really brave.

spamm · 09/08/2011 01:43

Dogsbestfriend - Spoke to a friend on twitter about an hour ago, she said Brixton was quiet so far. Just so you know. Hope they are all asleep.

DogsBestFriend · 09/08/2011 01:45

Thanks spamm, that's a relief, so very much appreciated.

breadandbutterfly · 09/08/2011 01:49

I would imagine the places done over will be quiet for some days/weeks. Nothing left to nick.

AmaraDresden · 09/08/2011 01:59

I don't really have much to offer, but I hope you manage to get some sleep and your DS settles. I would be pooping my pants too!

debivamp · 09/08/2011 02:06

To all those who are near this rioting is going on - thinking of you all tonight

boohoohoo · 09/08/2011 02:23

I've been to bed but can't sleep, am near lewisham and sirens going off everywhere, just opened the back door for the dogs and can hear shouting and screaming, jeezs this is horrible, think I'll wait up till the sun comes up. My dh has gone to sleep in the front bedroom as ds been up and down. Don't want to wake him as he has work in the morning. Never felt scared here before, I know their only targeting shops and I'm being irrational. Pathetic isint it.

AmberLeaf · 09/08/2011 02:54

Its not pathetic boohoohoo, its unnerving.
Im so tired but scared to go to sleep.

boohoohoo · 09/08/2011 03:03

i just cant believe what Im seeing, there is a police helicopter above again, hope its not setting off again in lewisham or peckham. no I`ll wait until the sun starts to come up, will feel safer then.

aurynne · 09/08/2011 04:44

Hi to you all ladies in London... I am horrified reading about what is happening. I am frustrated that there is nothing I can do, but I just want you to know there are people all around the world hoping the best to you all. Please keep writing, I will be listening.

PinkSchmoo · 09/08/2011 04:55

TLE hope you are getting some sleep and things have calmed a bit.

Not a Londoner but grew up in Belfast in the bad old days so I get how difficult it is having your area under attack and having that fear of not knowing.

You do get past it.

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/08/2011 08:08

My internet service was very poor last night even on my mobile. So I couldn't reply. I eventually got to sleep about 5. It was a hive of activity here with police cars and helicopters.

Hope everyone is safe!!
