... for some people to accuse others of 'bullying' or 'attacking' when they have their views disagreed with?

I've noticed a few threads on here in the last couple of days where anyone putting across a contrary view to the OP gets accused of being mean/bullying/personally attacking. I don't like it. Aren't people allowed to disagree anymore?

More to the point, I've noticed that some of the people complaining about 'bullies' are ganging up with each other to 'tell someone off' which comes across as a bit... well... bullying.

Right, I will just say this once.

The quote "twunty bollocks ...." was used to indicate the type of insult/comment posted by folk vehemently disagreeing with someone posting on a thread.

These folk were then described as a "brigade" in that they seem to unite and decide to get the thread deleted.

At no time did I use these words to refer to Special Needs parents, nor did I intend them to be interpreted as such.

YOU decided, WRONGLY, that such was my intention, and you persisted in putting forward, WRONGLY, that that was what I meant-"go on, admit it, or words to that effect (I don't copy and save whole threads to quote later, sorry.)

I have no beef with Special needs children, or their parents.

SharperSeven, you're on a hiding to nothing. It just happened that the vast majority of the people on the original thread who were upset and reported some of the posts are parents of DC with SN. Not a bunch of bullies who won't 'enjoy' an unpleasant, disablist discussion. MN has a large and supportive group of posters whose DC have SN, many of whom don't go on the SN board at all. Most posters are sensitive to that fact.

Ellen- I don't understand why you say I am "on a hiding to nothing". I simply stated the truth. Ithink that repeated goading to "admit" that I meant something else is bullying.
