Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tiredmum, Elmo, valiumredhead and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all Smile

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up!

Oooh, I love chalkboard paint!

I actually love organizing, and love being organized, but I have no idea where to start in this house!

gomummygo · 06/12/2011 19:09

Renos (and the ensuing mess!) are enough to drive anyone mad, are you almost through yours yet?

Have you done the Flylady declutter thing? I was a flybaby way back before Flylady got big, iykwim, and it's the decluttering part that makes the biggest visible difference for me. Even pack-rat DH does 27-thing-flings in the garage, lol! We are a fly-family Blush not that anyone irl knows that! Xmas Grin

CheerfulYank · 06/12/2011 19:12

I have done some flying. :o I think if I really stuck to it, it would make a huge difference.

Teaandchristmascakeplease · 06/12/2011 19:19

I love the fact that the first 2 Christmas cards through my door are from buddy benchers (Elmo, GoMummy) Xmas Grin I have to be honest though, I'm so broke I cannot even afford to buy stamps to send you one back. My finances may not recover before the international post cut off Sad

Codswallop means the same as "what a load of rubbish/ nonsense/ bungkem" Very British saying.

I like being organised too.

It's taking forever to type this from my phone. Be back later x

CheerfulYank · 06/12/2011 19:39

I got Gomummys but not Elmo's yet! :o We're still working on ours. I love Christmas cards too!

I hate typing on my phone too, Tea...give me a big keyboard any day!

gomummygo · 06/12/2011 20:29

Yay, glad you all got them. :) Our international cutoff was over two weeks ago so I'm astonished that they arrived so quickly, especially when none of our domestic cards have arrived at their destinations yet! Hmm Things must move much more quickly beyond our borders!

Still waiting for an opportunity to fit "codswollop" into daily conversation but I am so going to do it, now that I know for sure what it means, LOL! I shall let you all know what reaction I get! Xmas Grin

CheerfulYank · 06/12/2011 20:42

The next time DS tries to give me his "but Mommmy" excuses I shall tell him that it's a load of codswallop. :o

He has just dotted chapstick all over the wall and been sit to his room for having a fit when I took said chapstick away. Hmm

Teaandchristmascakeplease · 06/12/2011 21:17

Lol

Teaandchristmascakeplease · 08/12/2011 17:25

Where are you oo oo oooo

DD was mega cute in her nativity play today Xmas Smile

McDreamy Canada chap I think has a gf, due to sneaking a peak at his profile picture on fb and seeing him in swim shorts, slim lady in his arms in bikini, lots of smiles Oh well....

Teaandchristmascakeplease · 08/12/2011 17:26

FB is the route of all evil eh?

Out for a meal tonight with 2 old friends. Haven't been out for ages, going to be fab.

valiumredhead · 08/12/2011 17:37

Evening!!!

I am getting a roasting on another thread - I have come in here to hide! Grin

How's everyone? :)

Dark and cold here!

CheerfulYank · 08/12/2011 17:38

Oh, I have lost many hours to FB stalking. :o That'll be fun to go out with your friends. I'm having another sleepover with my best friend tomorrow night to watch cheesy Christmas movies. Blush

Teaandchristmascakeplease · 08/12/2011 19:00

I wish we lived closer Envy That sounds lush.

CheerfulYank · 08/12/2011 19:12

Oh yes. We've had three sleepovers now Blush, eating cookie dough and watching such gems as Holiday in Handcuffs, A Boyfriend for Christmas, A Dog Named Christmas, A Princess for Christmas, A Holiday Engagement...and so on. :o I wish you lived closer too, you'd be welcome!

gomummygo · 09/12/2011 15:18

Grin That does sound like fun!

Agree that FB is the root of all evil, for a variety of other reasons as well. Could the fb photo be something else, Tea? From a group of friends on holiday maybe?

Dark and cold here too Valium, though still not as bad as typical so not complaining too much. Everything is snow covered, but driving is still good and we're certainly grateful for that!

valiumredhead · 10/12/2011 18:57

Evening! Grin

My tree and decs are up - woo hoo. This time in 2 weeks it will be Xmas eve!!!!!!!!!!! Shock

CheerfulYank · 10/12/2011 20:06

Oh jeeeeeeeepers!

It's coming up way too fast. And my best friend has a birthday coming up next weekend and I'm supposed to plan the party. Eep!

Teaandchristmascakeplease · 10/12/2011 20:13

How's your movies and cookie dough? Envy

You'll get it all done in time. I know you will.

GoMummy no I think the pic is what it is

Off to watch some tv now the kids are in bed. I am comfort eating like mad at the moment, and I have no idea why Confused Better get dieting once Christmas is over Blush

gomummygo · 10/12/2011 22:01

I'm with you on the comfort eating Tea, though I've no idea why. Last night "D"H actually told me I've "put on some weight with all the Christmas baking." Shock He is a brave soul who slept on the couch.

Ack Valium I knew it was coming but when you say two weeks to go I realize how much I have still got to do!

Birthday party so close to Christmas, you will be busy Cheerful! Will it be an evening event with appetizers?

CheerfulYank · 10/12/2011 22:20

My dh would sleeping on the couch too and limping !

We are going to the restaurant so I don't have to do much food wise, just clothing wise as it is a 20's party. She's turning 30...saying goodbye to her "roaring 20's", geddit? :o

Tiredmumno1 · 10/12/2011 22:27

Hi all,

Been so busy here, saw the boys xmas play it was fab, we got a real tree this year so thats all up and decorated it, phew at least thats done Smile

I was feeling generous this week, I gave my pride and joy away, well okay it was just my old buggy (dont get me wrong I love the new one just as much) but I just cant describe the old one, its just fab anyway I gave it to my neighbour (the one that gave me the flowers), well I hope she appreciates it as much as I did, she'll love it when it snows, it glides.

How sad am I getting so excited over a buggy Grin

Its bloomin cold here at the mo. Its not nice

ElmosChristmasWish · 11/12/2011 01:51

I feel your pain on the birthday party cheerful Xmas Grin
DD's 6th birthday party is on next sat. She wanted all her
school friends at her party so we booked it before the school breaks up
for xmas hols.

Gomummy make sure you repay the compliment to your dh sometime soon Xmas Wink
Tea - glad you got the card xx
We put up our decorations today too valium :-)
Tiredmum - Aww i felt like that when i gave away ds's beautiful pram, hope you get to love the new pram just as much xx

Teaandchristmascakeplease · 11/12/2011 20:29

Loving the Christmas movies. Scrooged is on now Grin

ElmosChristmasWish · 11/12/2011 21:14

Just watched it Tea Xmas Grin ...... it's a TOASTER!!! that is my favourite line in the film LOL

gomummygo · 11/12/2011 22:36

Argh, I'd love to repay the "compliment" to DH, Elmo, but he is one of those people who is wearing the same size jeans that he did over 30 years ago! Envy

Aww Tiredmum, I sold DS's stroller (pram) recently. It was one of the big three-wheelers for the snow and I adored it! But tis ok, I met a lovely mum when she came to buy it! I went racing around the house for all of my accessories (mosquito net, etc.) and gave them to her! Hope you enjoy your new one even more. :)

Scrooged is one of my favourites, Tea. Still a sucker for Miracle on 34th Street though.

Loving the idea of a 20's party Cheerful! Would love getting all 20's-style-glammed up for that, sounds like a lot of fun.

Valium has motivated me to finish the decorations today, it was cold doing the outside stuff! Must make a note to do that earlier next year! We don't have much snow though, it is really strange. I don't recall ever having seen a green Christmas, it is really hard to imagine. We do have snow on the ground, but nothing compared to normal. Odd.
