I WAS unreasonable, and stupid - can I cover it up?

I took out a pyday loan. I KNOW, very stupid, but I felt desperate. This month £315 will come out of my bank account. HOW can I explain this without telling the truth, which is so embarrassing?

Great news CRS. See this as the start of a new beginning. Especially good if you can get a regular extra income from a club or tutoring, that'll help you pay off your debts faster and when they're done you can start saving.

God - saving would be a dream! But just being debt free would be good - when partner applied his head to the (finally honest) figures, it's not un doable. I think we have (gulp) about £35 thousand debt. (Including student loans and things that can be put off - about £5000 immediately worrying) But we can pay it off if we're really careful, all the time. No more burying head in the sand. Thanks all. CRS - well done on fessing up and good news that you and DP are presenting a united front on the debt! Don't know if this has been suggested upthread but have you been to moneysavingexpert.com - lots of people start threads on the Wannabe Debt Free section which chronicle their journey to be debt free and they are not only inspiring but loads of posters pitch in with good advice on practical ways to get it paid as fast as possible (ie working out which debt is charging the most interest and throwing as much spare cash at that as possible to get it cleared quickest, freeing up more money to attack the others once its cleared) - might be another idea (like your CAB seminars) to keep you motivated?
