I was just reading a post and it reminded me of when i was first on mumsnet and made a few blunders, the first posting in AIBU when i was a newbee

Although i never admitted it to any one then my next blunder in my confusion of many acronyms one was thinking that TIA was actually someone signing their post with their name any who for any newbees out there who are in their first days of mumsnet this thread will make you see you are not alone, and also some what cleverer then cookielove

I had been reading MN for a few days before I decided to join up. I duly signed myself up and then couldn't log in despite many attempts.

I sent angry emails about why my registration wasn't working.

Then I discovered that I was trying to log into Netmums.

Fortunately I was also emailing Netmums.

I came on and posted on an aibu all stroppy and opinionated and new.I still have the burn scars

Oh my god, ports fanny thread was amazing, I am actually crying with laughter and my DH finally thinks I have lost the plot.....(I am only on page one of this thread so may pop back with more comments :))

I also did the reverse AIBU. (difff name). A friend had done something awful to me but was convinced she was right so I posted her side of the story to see if people thought SWBU. They did, I got flamed, but at least I knew IWBU.

I committed the cardinal MN sin of posting whilst three sheets to the wind. I read something snidey about married women so wrote a strong defence of marriage, only to get up the next day and discover that I had posted on a lone parent thread . I did post a huge apology which was accepted by most.

In the early days when I used to post without engaging my brain I would often namechange to get rid of damaging collateral.

Port - I think the funniest part of your vagina monologue was when you then seamlessly tried to get the thread back to the subject under discussion!

i put on a recent thread to a lesbian mum whose religious mum had disowned her that "jesus loves you not matter how much muff you like" it had a context and i was trying to be amusing but i just didnt think it threw and couldnt even bring my self to go back on the thread to see if she or anyone else commented after it.

spookshowangel From when I read it I think people ignored it but I had almost been tempted to just post PMSL about it!! I even told dh that evening!!

I once started an AIBU thread and made the classic mistake of exaggerating my misdeeds. It was the age-old tale of woe, done hundreds of times on MN about someone parking so over the line so that I banged DS' head trying to get him into his car seat. He has SN but we didn't have a blue badge for him at the time.

I stupidly said that I had rammed our car door open into the other one (which really was scratched to fuck anyway) and it was really interesting. Posted Saturday night and responses were fine, asking after DS and all, one asking what colour car it was and when I said it was silver that I was DNBU but my Christ, the next day I was slaughtered by the the people who get up clear-headed on a Sunday morning and presumably off to church.

I also didn't realise, being a non-driver, that scratches on a car can cause rust and a lot of expense. I always thought people were just being bloody poncey about their paintwork.

I always watch similar threads quite closely and have been known to give the OP a surprise PM of support

Very recently I started a joke thread saying VOLDEMORT DIES!

OMG the abuse I got. Apparantly i'm as evil as someone who kicks puppies.

It got deleted. I still maintain that it couldnt be a spoiler because it's fecking obvious.

I joined a few days ago and thought that the blue label that says 'I'm on' at the top of this page was a really quite direct title for a forum abou periods!

amazing are people dense?
