I was just reading a post and it reminded me of when i was first on mumsnet and made a few blunders, the first posting in AIBU when i was a newbee Shock

Although i never admitted it to any one then my next blunder in my confusion of many acronyms one was thinking that TIA was actually someone signing their post with their name any who for any newbees out there who are in their first days of mumsnet this thread will make you see you are not alone, and also some what cleverer then cookielove Grin

Come wise mumnetters share your blunders, your blushes and your mis understandings here Smile

PortBlack that link is pure comedy gold.

And Cocoflower, I am still guffawing mightily at Vajazzled.

ScarletOHaHa · 22/07/2011 12:15

Still new and bumbling around. Popped my MN cherry thus: First day on MN/ first post on a forum/ went for AIBU - it was about my MIL. Blush

I was really upset about something and was shocked at YABU responses.

Loving it now

SiamoFottuti · 22/07/2011 12:16

YABU not to put this in Chat, where it belongs.

AbsDuCroissant · 22/07/2011 12:16

A very ill advised thread in AIBU about karaoke when hammered.

I had to name change from shame

crazynanna · 22/07/2011 12:16

Too new here to have a valid place on this thread....give me time Wink

Talking of DD1,DD2 etc, on another forum many moons ago,I was asking for advice on my girl getting bullied. I wrote "DD10...blah",to which I got the reply "you have ten daughters? Anyway, how old is she?" Smile

ScarletOHaHa · 22/07/2011 12:16

Love PortBlack and Cocoflower too.

TartyMcFarty · 22/07/2011 12:21

I am always mildly embarrassed by the number of threads I manage to kill!

LuckyMrsT · 22/07/2011 12:21

I heard a funny story about the meaning of 'LOL' once. The teller had also thought it solely meant Lots of Love (as opposed to the more popular Laughed Out Loud for those who still don't know).

She text messaged someone whose father had recently died to say 'I heard your dad had passed way - LOL x'

Oops...

RockStockAndTwoOpenBottles · 22/07/2011 12:22

Nothing yet that I am aware of. But give me time as I am perfectly capable of putting my foot in it

cookielove · 22/07/2011 12:23

LuckyMrsT - so cringeworthy

Slagged off benefit claimants, formula feeders, stay at home mums...oops I just did it again.

Disclaimer: this is a JOKE.

See how scarred I've been?

supadupapupascupa · 22/07/2011 12:28

on a different forum i got into a very heated debate with a few other posters and was so touched when someone stuck up for me that i sent them a PM thanking them and started bitching about this 'idiot'.

but i had sent it to the last poster, not to whom it was intended.

and she was a mate of the person i was bitching about

i died

but i replied with a very humble apology and admitted how ashamed i was to have behaved like that Blush

NEVER again

pinkyp · 22/07/2011 12:44

Lol at mrs T!!!!! That's so funny

michelleseashell · 22/07/2011 13:25

I started my first thread in am I being unreasonable about something that had REALLY upset me. I ended up crying myself to sleep over some of the responses. Then a few weeks later, I changed my name and started a new thread over something more trivial. Someone thought I was making it up since I was being a bit jokey and the thread got deleted and I got banned for life with no explanation from Mumsnet. They wouldn't even answer any of my emails!

I really ran the gauntlet!

InfestationofLannisters · 22/07/2011 13:39

Grin at Port. I remember that!

I've seen the lol for "lots of love" before. Can't remember where but it was something like, "your grandfather passed away at 7:30, lol"

InfestationofLannisters · 22/07/2011 13:41

Oops, x-post with Mrs T.

cornsilksy · 22/07/2011 13:49

I once tried to link a picture of Keanu, but there was something wroing with the link as whilst I could see Keanu, other posters could see a strange half naked veiny man and didn't understand my enthusiasm

Psammead · 22/07/2011 13:50

Crying with laughter at Port's mispost.

Pagwatch · 22/07/2011 14:34

I have made a few on here.

I did one 'good grief, how can you all behave like this...' hand wringing post and got a volley of 'oh do fuck off' replies. Rightly so.

I can't believe I was rude to Beertricks. I think it was all scottishmummy
