There is no flaw in my argument Grin

Peachy · 21/07/2011 19:11

I wopuld rather park anywhere there is a safe walkway tbh. All mine have AN from fairly severe to mild and battling across a roadway with any of them is too much to contemplate without 2 of us.

A safe walkway would guarantee my custom.

lulaloop · 21/07/2011 19:17

I have no comments about P&T parking.

But StrandedBear you were so very blatantly not joking in your troll post.

Which tbh makes the whole thread rather amazing.

LadyFlumpalot · 21/07/2011 19:21

Now, you see, today I went and picked up some essentials from the supermarket. No PandT spaces available so I parked in a normal one. Hoicked DS in his car seat (too young still for the seated trolleys) out no problem, attached carseat to travel system and off we went. Returned to find two whacking gurt cars on each side of mine, both parked over, close to my car so I could not get the door open enough to get DS in, heck, I could hardly get in the drivers door myself and I'm really quite small.

I considered going back in and asking them to make an announcement, but no, coward that I am I took myself off to sit on a wall and wait, and wait, and wait...

That is why I like the wider spaces!

TheRhubarb · 22/07/2011 11:41

You know those parents who give their kids a list and expect them to do their shopping for them? Bloody pain in the arse! Kids running everywhere with bloody lists getting in my way when I just want to shop and go. There should be child-free supermarkets. And whilst you're there no fecking stopping in the middle of the aisle with your 7 children to talk to another mother with her 10 children!!!!!

And ban slow people.
And those who hog the meat section trying to find the cheapest cut.
And women trying on clothes in the middle of the aisle.
And lazy arses who leave trolleys in the middle of the car park.
And and everything!

TandB · 22/07/2011 12:43

And people who stand on one side of the aisle to look at the shelves on the other side of the aisle. And then tut when you walk in front of them.

Peachy · 22/07/2011 16:10

Oh but Rhubs ds2 is ten

Child free supermarkets and I wouldn't be able to send him to shops for me in a few years

Then where'd be the point in having him? Wink

TheRhubarb · 22/07/2011 16:13

Yeah but when I sent my 10yo dd to the shop for a bottle of vodka for me they refused to serve her! Angry

Andrewofgg · 22/07/2011 17:12

Then there's the types who remember half way through putting their goods through the tills that there was something else and go back for it, and keep the entire queue waiting.

They should pay for what they've got then go back. Even with toddlers in tow, because there are probably people with toddlers in the queue they are keeping waiting.

Failing that, shoot them.

Now I will go and take my meds.

ChaoticAngelofGryffindor · 22/07/2011 20:32

What did people do before p&c spaces and online shopping? Confused

Meglet · 22/07/2011 20:41

Yanbu. I don't care how far I have to walk, I never park near a shop anyway. I just want to be able to open the car doors and buckle the kids in.

As long as they leave some trollies by the p+t spaces its fine.

TBH I usually on-line shop or go without the kids, but it's fun to take them sometimes.

Peachy · 22/07/2011 21:41

Cahotic they went to the local shops. You know, the ones that closed down years ago (and sold hardly any fresh fruit, veg or meat- just crap and over priced crap at that).

I online shop when the boys are home but still have to go to opticians, pick up and try on clothes: can minimise but not escape.

ThumbsNoseAtSnapewitch · 23/07/2011 01:50

Before P&T spaces there weren't any rules about car seats - so you just opened the door a fraction and the children slithered out of the back seat themselves. Ditto getting back in.

It's only become more needful to have wider spaces because parents have to open the door wide enough to reach in and lift/belt their children into their carseats.

Of course there was a lag phase between the rules about carseats and the appearance of P&T spaces - and probably a lot of dinged car doors!

kickassangel · 23/07/2011 04:48

acksherly there's a tesco in bar hill, cambs, where the p & t spaces AREN'T by the doors.
sadly, the trolleys are by the doors.
so, me with bad back, dd not yet walking, but too heavy to carry = complete F*ing nightmare.
they can put the spaces wherever they want, BUT have some trolleys near by so we can lift kids into trolley, rather than carry them
