Provided there are appropriate walkways available so parent and child(ren) can safely get through the car park, I agree!

Tortington · 21/07/2011 16:06

but i want to park closer why shoudl you and your toddler get preference - you still get a space at the back with rooom for prams an schniz

ShirleyKnot · 21/07/2011 16:07

I think there should be NO SUCH BLINKING THING.

Earwiggy · 21/07/2011 16:07

Yabu

Plus, what does online shopping have to do with where the parent spaces are?

Fwiw my toddler loves going round the supermarket so not exactly torture Biscuit

Tortington · 21/07/2011 16:10

torture for me when you say no to buying something

shirleyknot - i would be with you deffo - but these #paarents' need specially wide spaces apparently

Fine by me, provided there is a safe way to get accross the car park with little ones! It's the space to get infant carriers in/out, or toddlers in and of car seats that I really find valuable.

Then again I might have felt differently when I was hobbling post-c-section......... depends on personal circumstances I guess!

lazylula · 21/07/2011 16:11

I do not 'torture' my children with shopping, it is part of life, they need to et, I need to shop and I am not paying extra on top for someone to deliver it and find stuff near to date, bruised or substituted with random things! With regard to p&t spaces, I really do not care where they are. Infact I would probbly prefer they did away with them and made all spaces slightly bigger!

Karbea · 21/07/2011 16:11

I don't really understand why they are needed, but I think they should be spread around the car park, I hate having to get wet etc when there are rows and rows of free parent and disabled bays free.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 21/07/2011 16:11

Suits me, I don't care where you stick them as long as the spaces are wide enough for me to get my fat arse child out of the car without dinging the car next door.

Tortington · 21/07/2011 16:12

we'd see how much of a wide space is needed when they ar back of carpark - i'd bet my arse 90% of parents whould still park near the front

stop being so bloody reasonable - this is AIBU ffs

GwendolineMaryLacey · 21/07/2011 16:13

The funny thing is, my Tesco has introduced two rows of 'wide' spaces. Absolutely lovely, except the number of bloody tiny Fiats and Minis and Smart cars that use them is ridiculous. Anyone weighing less than me and in a tiny car should be shot immediately for using a wide space.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 21/07/2011 16:14

There, I've offered to shoot people who use the wrong space. Is that a little less reasonable? I don't mind giving them a kicking first if it helps :o

Brynn · 21/07/2011 16:18

Troll or not, I agree anyway. I don't care where the P&C spaces are, so long as they're wide enough to get a child out of a carseat, while 40 weeks pregnant. In fact, if they were at the back, they'd be less likely to be taken up by lazy buggers who don't actually need them.

33goingon64 · 21/07/2011 16:19

I appreciate the family spaces being close to the trolleys cos I am a weakling and find carrying the car seat with nearly 5 month old in it pretty hard work. Also, what are you meant to do when you take the trolley back? carry the car seat half way across the car park again, or leave baby in car (obv not the latter). I prefer online shopping anyway.

ShirleyKnot · 21/07/2011 16:19

ahahaha at custy being accused of being a male troll.

hahahaha!

TandB · 21/07/2011 16:20

Custardo? A troll?

[looks intently at OP for signs of trollishness]

[decides to be on the safe side and orders some billy goats just in case]

headfairy · 21/07/2011 16:20

I feel I should be allowed to park IN the supermarket if I take my pfb and psb shopping. All the better for them to pick their own favourite brand of brioche for breakfast, or Jerusalem artichokes for luncheon.

:o

ShirleyKnot · 21/07/2011 16:20

It's her manly jaw.

Tortington · 21/07/2011 16:21

well 33 i hadn't thought of that, i think i left my kids in the car - probably unlocked, whilst i took my trolley back. good idea -i might tell tesco
