bills have been a tricky one this month, will just scrape by but food might been an issue. Have been eating rice for the last few days. (should mention that no DCs in the picture, just me and OH)

at the weekend i got a £10 in tips from bar work, and I want to spend it on drink, even though I should get food. but the thought of treating myself to a bottle of rose to make me feel better even for a little while is so tempting...

yummybutterbiscuit · 19/07/2011 21:55

buy a 3 quid bottle of wine from Aldi and you can still eat !

problem solved Smile

well, not really, 'cos I hope your cashflow problems get sorted soon, love

HarrietSchulenberg · 19/07/2011 21:56

I'd go for the half and half idea. Or 80/20 split. Bottle of rose and a big bag of crisps for that really healthy option. Money's yours, do what you like with it.

yummybutterbiscuit · 19/07/2011 21:57

thank you AnyFucker, should be sorted soon, looking for a full time job and have applied for housing benefits on my low income part time job, so that should start coming in in the next few weeks.

AuntiePickleBottom · 19/07/2011 21:59

yanbu..pre kids drink on the weekend came before food ( no wonder i was a size 6 back then)

molepom · 19/07/2011 22:00

As long as you have something to eat during the week, there is no reason why you shouldnt have that bottle of wine.

It's your money, do what you want with it.

One thing I have noticed though is that if you are going through a rough time, if you dont treat yourself with something like a bottle of wine or that expensive tub of icecream or even a packet of fags for gods sake, you will only make a tough time harder.

Hope you get sorted out soon, its rough having no money.

Muckyhighchair · 19/07/2011 22:28

On the plus side, in my local council they process a housing benifit claim in 2 days.
So get all your paperwork together and get down there asap. You could get a sum of money in your accout by fri.

snippywoo2 · 19/07/2011 22:34

Tbh if you have £10 you can buy booze and get food for the weekend. Go the supermarket buy cheap booze and you will have enough left over to buy their own brands food to last you the weekend. You might be eating crap but with the help of the cheap booze you wont care lol

FabbyChic · 19/07/2011 22:39

Jeeez drink is not that important you should spend your last tenner on it says a lot for you that you need drink more than you need a decent meal.

Real sad way to live your life that wine comes before a decent dinner.

AnyFucker · 19/07/2011 22:40
