Ginny isn't right, I have this alternative universe theory where Ginny grows into a stunning beauty, has a sordid affair with Draco and they have lots of gorgeous blonde haired, brown eyed children (unusual, but possible, it's how my own DS is looking to turn out!)

I like Ron, just watched part 1 and he has gotten all growly and sexy! Luna is perfect.

Alan Rickman is great as Snape.

As for Ian McKellan as Dumbledore - I seem to remember reading that he was offered the part but didn't want to be typecast as a wizard.

I really like Daniel Radcliffe. But it has always made me laugh that on the first film they bothered to give him the beautiful green eyes that the book goes on about, then they stopped doing it [hgrin]

Well I've never been into HP but we went and watched one of the films at the cinema a couple of years ago with dc to get out of the rain whilst on holiday (lovely)

I just couldn't for the life of me get what all the hooha was about. The acting was very iffy and unconvincing imho.

Daniel Radcliffe can't really have been too old for the part, shortround because he was 11 when the first film was filmed - exactly the same age as the character.

I'm pretty happy with most of the casting actually.

The only problem have is the complete transformation of Fleur Delacour's character. She was supposed to be stunningly beautiful (part Veela, of course) and very head strong and opinionated. The Fleur portrayed in the film was average in looks and personality.

Oh don't diss Dan. I think he's great. He's geeky and awkward and cute - I think he plays Harry really well.
And I love him more for being Dyspraxic and coping with all that.

Agree re Fleur. I like Emma W - yes, she overacts a bit but she has quite a good ear and sense of timing for a comic line (as do they all, actually) and the bit where she tearfully hugs Harry before watching him depart for the forest was really well done, I thought.

DR is a shit actor. I'll give you that, OP.
