OP posts:
catgirl1976 · 15/07/2011 18:02

Have to say I wouldn't have come forward. Imagine they will get nothing but this from now on Hmm

littlemisssarcastic · 15/07/2011 18:27

I imagine that it wont be too long before the begging letters begin to pile up on the doormat and that's the least of their worries imvho.
They have lost all privacy now, their full names have been published, and the names of their children and even what their children do for a living/study, even a picture of their home is in the paper.
I would definitely have remained anonymous.
There are alot of incredibly unscrupulous people about who would do God knows what for a slice of that money.
Personally, with all these details now out in the open, I'd not feel safe sleeping there tonight, or any other night tbh.
It was unbelievably foolish for the DM to publish so much information about this couple.

ratspeaker · 15/07/2011 19:17

as I said in CHAT

Good luck to them
Personally I wouldn't have ANY publicity
Just coz they got lucky with a random set of numbers some people have hauled their judgy pants so high their camel toe looks like a lump in the throat

TidyDancer · 15/07/2011 19:19

The couple seem lovely and the OP is behaving like a dick. That's really all I have to say on this subject.

bibbitybobbityhat · 15/07/2011 19:23

Heh heh heh, hello Dora.

RichTeaAreCrap · 15/07/2011 20:49

lol come on you all know who Dora is don't you? She is known for her insulting posting. It's just her style and always has been Grin

Can't you smell something fishy?!

lachesis · 15/07/2011 20:50

Bet Dora wouldn't say no if they offered her some money.

SchrodingersMew · 15/07/2011 20:55

Lachesis Bet she wouldn't say no to some pies either. :o

I'm happy for the people who won. :) Never hear of anyone winning anything from Scotland. :)

RichTeaAreCrap · 15/07/2011 21:06

I bet anybody wouldn't say no to some of their money!!

Good luck to them, they seem a really nice couple and hope they have a lovely time with it.

lachesis · 15/07/2011 21:39

I thought they seemed a nice couple. :) I hope they enjoy their winnings. Sounds like they are going to carefully consider how they give away some of it, which is good.

Largs is a beautiful place.

lachesis · 15/07/2011 21:41

Haahaa, Trillian!

FabbyChic · 15/07/2011 21:42

They need gastric bands, and plenty of plastic surgery.

They should keep half and divide the other half between their children.

Blackcoffeeandcigarettes · 15/07/2011 21:49

Would you rather be mega rich? Or Megan fox beautiful ?

lachesis · 15/07/2011 21:51

Megan Fox comes across as an empty-headed, spoilt, vapid, self-obsessessed bitch. So I think I'd rather be one of this couple, who seem kind and down to Earth.

Beauty is inside, IMO and IME.

GetOrfMoiLand · 15/07/2011 21:51

First thing I thought when I saw them was the fact they both had walking sticks. Imagine that life must be a bit tough and that the money will at least ease their way through life.

Second thought was WHY agree to publicity. I would personally just have fucked off to Acapulco for 6 months. Every leech they have ever known will be in touch.

Thirdly - that amount of money I think could be truly life ruining. I think it is too much and can be frightening I think.

I didn't think 'fatsos'

lachesis · 15/07/2011 21:51

They should do whatever they damn well please with their money and I hope they enjoy their lives.

GetOrfMoiLand · 15/07/2011 21:53

I expect the lottery organisation really pressure you to agree to publicity, and in all the excitement and dosed on champagne people say 'yeah ok then'.

Imagine everyone looking at you differently.

It's too much money.

thederkinsdame · 15/07/2011 21:58

DoraJarr Are you a woman in her 40s who has recently resigned from a senior position within a right-wing media organisation? Or just someone who can't stand the thought that you don't have to be a supermodel to win the lottery?

Blackcoffeeandcigarettes · 15/07/2011 21:59

Fwiw, I'd take the money too

TheBolter · 15/07/2011 22:00

I was saying to dh earlier that with that much (easy) money I would spend my life in guilt, thinking I should be helping x, y and z with my millions. Donating here there and everywhere.... and I would, believe me I would be soooo generous I would probably give most of it away. But there will always be people writing to you, pleading with you, and you would never know the truth from the fiction...

Your benefactor friends would always feel beholden to you. Friendships would break down. You would never know if people wanted you for you or your money. People would say they love you whatever but mutterings would still be muttered!

Dh said he'd be happier with a million... that way you could improve your life but realistically keep your winnings a secret.

GetOrfMoiLand · 15/07/2011 22:04

Oh I would want more than a million, bolter Grin

Twenty mil would be perfect. You could give most of it away, and live your life in sane comfort, without it being ridiculous.

dementedma · 15/07/2011 22:06

ooh i work in the same town where these people live!

i actually wouldn't want that much money though - a million would do me.

BimboNo5 · 15/07/2011 22:07

Trust Fabby to come out with the usual fatist cunty hate filled diatribe.
Sadly Fab if you won the 162 million jackpot it still wouldn't be enough to sort out your ghastly lack of personality

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 15/07/2011 22:09

Holidays ??

Ill health ??

They're multi millionaires ffs, they could PAY some poor sod to carry them up Everest in heated chariots if they want to !

I like em anyways, she was a MH nurse, he was a camera man. Nice n normal and not too posh still should ave been me tho, bastards

TheOriginalFAB · 15/07/2011 22:10
