Yabu, cruel and a bit of a bitch tbf.

Good luck to them. I am sure they will -appreciate the money since they have had health problems.

SchrodingersMew · 15/07/2011 16:57

Dora I would love to see a picture of you as you are ever so quick in insulting others.

I bet you're a fat sweaty bald man sitting behind his computer insulting people all day because he can't stand to face the real world because he is so damn hideous.

TrillianAstra · 15/07/2011 16:58

If you're really rich you can eat as many pies as you like and hire assassins to shoot all the peopel who make fat jokes about you.

handsomeharry · 15/07/2011 16:59

There really are some ghastly people on MN.

Pathetic OP

If my child made a comment like that I would be thoroughly ashamed of him.

gramercy · 15/07/2011 17:00

anyone else a bit Hmm that neither could work for last few years due to health issues but now say they're going off to Ayers Rock and Great Wall of China? ... Just wondered, that's all...

SchrodingersMew · 15/07/2011 17:02

Here's another thread in which Dora decided to be a complete bitch and insult me because of the way I look.

I don't think I have ever shouted troll but either that or the OP is just a bully.

SchrodingersMew · 15/07/2011 17:02

Why the hell do links not work anymore?

AgentZigzag · 15/07/2011 17:02

There are more nice than those like the OP hansome (not that you'll read this if you're hiding the thread).

AgentZigzag · 15/07/2011 17:03

No gramercy, as it's got fuck all to do with anyone else.

TheOriginalFAB · 15/07/2011 17:04

Not at all gramercy. Just happy for them.

DooinMeCleanin · 15/07/2011 17:05

gramercy my Dad cannot work due to ill health but he has just returned from a week long camping trip. You see when he is camping he is free to rest as and when he needs to, he is generally not left unsupervised. There is no stress to aggravate his condition. He could go abroad too were he not scared of flying. He can barely walk a flight of stairs, without needing his medication but that doesn't mean he has to spend the rest of his life bed ridden.

DogsBestFriend · 15/07/2011 17:06

Personally my first move would be to secure my children a decent education.

What a twat of an OP.

SchrodingersMew · 15/07/2011 17:11

Dogs I think that would probably be what most people would do, and possibly buy a bigger house and put money into savings for them and their children.

Dooin You are very right, just because someone is disabled doesn't mean they are incapable of doing anything or having a life.

LadyThumb · 15/07/2011 17:11

You should all be having a go at the Daily Mail, not the OP. You don't seriously think the headline "the biggest winners" was a mistake, do you??

littlemisssarcastic · 15/07/2011 17:13

Apparently they agreed to go public because it would be difficult to hide the fact that they were the winners. I have thought about that before. I mean, what if it had been me and I didn't want anyone knowing....I'd be letting the cat out of the bag to buy a new house/car or spend any significant amount of money.

Mind you, I think I'd have remained anonymous and let people guess, and I'd laugh and deny it if I was asked.

SchrodingersMew · 15/07/2011 17:13

I don't think many people on here read that paper so probably wouldn't have seen that horrid headline.

HowlingBitch · 15/07/2011 17:14

Ugh you know that really gets to me. What do you propose people with disabilities do? Sit staring out a window all day?

lubberlich · 15/07/2011 17:14

Personally my first move would be to secure my children a decent education.

Really?
My first move would be to give most of it away to people who need it - like the Somalis who are dying for a simple drink of water.
£161 million is an obscene amount for one couple to suddenly acquire.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 15/07/2011 17:16

No, them not working didn't occur to me either. My first thoughts were that they seemed genuinely nice and well done to them.

And I don't read newspapers so I'll keep on thinking the OP is a bit of a knob.

halcyondays · 15/07/2011 17:17

Wish it had been us, but good luck to them, they look like a nice couple We would definitely remain anonymous, and would lie low for a while until the fuss had died done. I suppose people would figure it out eventually, but wouldn't want to be splashed all over the papers.

Hevian · 15/07/2011 17:56

Schrodinger, lovely photo of you but I agree with Dora - you should go back to your natural hair colour.

SchrodingersMew · 15/07/2011 18:01

I'm trying to go back to my natural hair colour.... Which is light blonde.

SchrodingersMew · 15/07/2011 18:01

But thanks. :)

squeakytoy · 15/07/2011 18:01

Nowhere in the article does it say they were receiving benefits, and both have worked for most of their lives. They have retired due to poor health, and I hope the money means they will be able to do whatever they like now. Good luck to them, they seem like nice ordinary folk.

There are some very nasty posts on this thread. :(
