by a car park attendant!!!!!!

Yes a car park attendant.

I dropped Alfie (DS2) at nursery - (his nursery is in the hospital grounds), 10 mins walk from my house, i went in the car as i dropped Jack (DS1) at school first which is further away.

I couldnt park in one of the designated parking bays because there were a van with its bonnet up, a car parked there and a hospital transport van parked ACROSS the other bay. So i parked at the side of another car opposite the nursery.

As i was driving out of the nursery part, a car park attendant (dressed in a uniform, thinks hes a copper, that kinda thing) flagged me down to stop. So i stopped then he said

'2 things, this car park is a 15mph zone, i dont appreciate you doing 30, 35, 40mph into the grounds and secondly you cant park there, where you just parked.'

So i said '1stly, i didnt exactly speed, i was doing 20mph, there was a car in front of me (i know 5mph over the limit but not the speed he said i was doing) then i said ''and secondly the car park is full, where else am i to park?'
then i said
''wheres the signs?''
He said
''Over there - whilst pointing.'' (which are not do not park here signs they are dangerous equipment in this building signs)

so i said ''well they need to be bigger''
Then as he was walking off he shouted

''You have glasses, you can read''

Grrrr so i shouted 'you WHAT?' and he said it again

So i just shouted 'ohh fuck off'

Its made me very angry now. iv told DH and DH said 'ohh looks like im coming with you to pick Alfie up then'

Grrrr who does he think he is. Hes a ticket attendant ffs. yeah i admit i was speeding 5mph over the limit but FM calling me blind?? Theres no need for that. I probably am BU but there was no need for his attitude, if he had just come up to me to talk, rather than lecture and abuse me then fair do's but he didnt.

No i wouldnt, if he had approached me pleasantly then it would have been a different situation but he didnt.

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 14/07/2011 14:50

And shit Lisa, has DH's job finished ? No wonder you've turned into Evil Edna Shock

That's a hell of a pisser Sad

sue52 · 14/07/2011 14:52

I think you were both in the wrong. You for speeding and parking in the wrong place and he for his jobsworth attitude. You did not have to swear at him though, he was only doing the job he is paid for.

Also i am not a snob im a stay at home mum whos who is liviong on benefits at the minute due to DH job contract ending 2 weeks ago. i also live in a council house, how am i snob?

Being a snob is not about where you live or how you make your living, it's about how you treat other people.

Rindercella · 14/07/2011 14:53

Sorry, have only got to the end of page 1, but I just can't help laughing at, "He also goes round the car park, checking cars". Erm, he's a carpark attendant. Isn't that precisely what his job is? Confused Grin

Kladdkaka · 14/07/2011 14:54

I got into a row with a parking attendant once in the carpark because he took offence at me parking in a disabled bay. I have a blue badge issued in another EU state, he said I'd made it myself. So he gave me a ticket when I was in the shop. Then I drove to the other side to go in another shop and parked in another disabled bay, and got another ticket. Rinse and repeat. By the time I left I had 5 tickets. What a nutter.

REality you mean just don't you wink

Brilliant thread.

DogsBestFriend · 14/07/2011 15:01

"i didnt know the car park had 15mph limit. Theres no signs up"

Erm... it's a hospital car park. Where ill and disabled people are going to be. With adjacent, on-site nursery-school. Where small children are going to be.

Didn't any of that give you just the teeny, tiniest clue that you should be driving at a very low speed and not parking inappropriately Hmm

M0naLisa · 14/07/2011 15:03

i was driving at 20pmh. its not like i was doing 60mph having a fag and singing out the window the some chipmunk sounding music is it?!

Hevian · 14/07/2011 15:04

Oh dear. I've just read another thread you are on about your husband being annoyed when someone reclined their airline seat and you both got VERY UPSET.

Sounds like you both have attitude problems and probably go looking for trouble. Hope I don't come across you.

So, not for this thread - but for life in general YABVU

Ihavewelliesbuttheyrenotgreen · 14/07/2011 15:05

I'm sure that MonaLisa has been on other threads but she has been, well moaning on them, hence the name perhaps? Either way grab a cup of tea op, and a grip and a [hbiscuit]

M0naLisa · 14/07/2011 15:05

Hevian have you read the whole thread and all my mosts on the airline thread. It was a 4 hr flight to tenerife not 24 hr flight. DH is 6ft tall, i was 6mth pregnant and at the front of the plane.

God its like a witch hunt on this place sometime.

M0naLisa · 14/07/2011 15:06

Ormirian · 14/07/2011 15:07

Without a doubt the man is an Arse in a high-vis coat! He enjoys the POWER!

However he was, annoyingly, in the right. Best response to this is to smile a lot, and say 'Yes I am very sorry' and drive off whilst discretely giving him the finger behind the dashboard.

Insomnia11 · 14/07/2011 15:07

It must be very annoying to be told off by a Parking Attendant and then by Mumsnet in one day. See who you can piss off this evening and go for the hattrick, why don't you?

M0naLisa · 14/07/2011 15:09

Shock He didn't? Not a proper parking attendant then.

DogsBestFriend · 14/07/2011 15:11

No, it's not as if you were doing 60 etc but yet again that's not what I said.

Please re-read what I posted.

DogsBestFriend · 14/07/2011 15:11

BURN HER!

:o
