by a car park attendant!!!!!!

Yes a car park attendant.

I dropped Alfie (DS2) at nursery - (his nursery is in the hospital grounds), 10 mins walk from my house, i went in the car as i dropped Jack (DS1) at school first which is further away.

I couldnt park in one of the designated parking bays because there were a van with its bonnet up, a car parked there and a hospital transport van parked ACROSS the other bay. So i parked at the side of another car opposite the nursery.

As i was driving out of the nursery part, a car park attendant (dressed in a uniform, thinks hes a copper, that kinda thing) flagged me down to stop. So i stopped then he said

'2 things, this car park is a 15mph zone, i dont appreciate you doing 30, 35, 40mph into the grounds and secondly you cant park there, where you just parked.'

So i said '1stly, i didnt exactly speed, i was doing 20mph, there was a car in front of me (i know 5mph over the limit but not the speed he said i was doing) then i said ''and secondly the car park is full, where else am i to park?'
then i said
''wheres the signs?''
He said
''Over there - whilst pointing.'' (which are not do not park here signs they are dangerous equipment in this building signs)

so i said ''well they need to be bigger''
Then as he was walking off he shouted

''You have glasses, you can read''

Grrrr so i shouted 'you WHAT?' and he said it again

So i just shouted 'ohh fuck off'

Its made me very angry now. iv told DH and DH said 'ohh looks like im coming with you to pick Alfie up then'

Grrrr who does he think he is. Hes a ticket attendant ffs. yeah i admit i was speeding 5mph over the limit but FM calling me blind?? Theres no need for that. I probably am BU but there was no need for his attitude, if he had just come up to me to talk, rather than lecture and abuse me then fair do's but he didnt.

YABVU for:

  1. Speeding in a car park, 20mph is way, way too fast for a car park
  2. Driving a ten minute walk
  3. Parking incorrectly without expecting there to be sanctions
  4. Bawling out a car park attendant
  5. Being a troll
Biscuit
BimboNo5 · 14/07/2011 14:15

Sounds like you have a crush on him- why dont you ask him if he fancies a shag and relieve some of this obvious sexual tension?

BoysAreLikeDogs · 14/07/2011 14:17

fancy - a parking attendant checking cars, reminding about not speeding, pointing out incorrect parking, what a jobsworth he is

[sarcastic face]

Pandemoniaa · 14/07/2011 14:17

How unfortunate of the jack-booted running dog of the imperialist lackey NOT to realise that the world revolves around you and your need to drive at an inappropriate speed and park wherever you wish. Hopefully he will have been sent to the Gulag before your husband has had the chance to rearrange his officious features.

What is the world coming to, eh?

MooMooFarm · 14/07/2011 14:17

You are being very silly and I think you're joking. But just in case...

Why the indignation about being told off by a 'car park attendant'. Are they lower in the food chain IYO or something Confused

I hate to tell you but as a car park attendant, his job is to check that people are using the car park according to the rules, which probably include not speeding and not parking in the wrong place. You were doing both so suck it up.

OP how long were you parked?

MooMooFarm · 14/07/2011 14:21

I don't think you're a troll OP because I've seen you on here before being normal. But this does sound a bit Hmm

TobyLerone · 14/07/2011 14:21

he isnt the police. He is an arrogant piece of shit.

You're perfectly right. Enforcing the parking rules in his place of work definitely is not his job.

The music teacher at my son's new grammar school told him off yesterday on his taster day because he was supposed to be playing an E chord on the guitar and instead he started playing the solo from Stairway to Heaven (actual true story). Don't worry, I told him that if he gets told off again today, he should shout at the teacher "Fuck off. You aren't the police. You are an arrogant piece of shit."

M0naLisa · 14/07/2011 14:22

pendeen i was there for literally 3 mins, i got DS out the car, went into nursery signed him in, he gave me a kiss, off he went.

MooMoo thank you im not a troll. yes i am normal but this upset me.

You may not be a troll but you do seem to be suffering from a lack of apostrophes...

Grin at TobyLerone

ShatnersBassoon · 14/07/2011 14:22

Write to the attendant's employer and tell them exactly what happened, as you have written it here. He'll probably get Employee of the Month.

Empusa · 14/07/2011 14:23

"He is an arrogant piece of shit"

Dear pot, meet kettle..

SuePurblybilt · 14/07/2011 14:23

Excellent advice from Toby. May I suggest getting a sign printed?

FUCK OFF. YOU AREN'T THE POLICE. YOU ARE AN ARROGANT PIECE OF SHIT

on one side and, on the other:

NOT YOU OFFICER

Just to be on the safe side? It might save you valuable speeding time.

MooMooFarm · 14/07/2011 14:24

So is it that you're just super-stressed out today Mona? Whatever it is, it's not worth getting your blood pressure up over. Have a Wine

TobyLerone · 14/07/2011 14:24

I snorted, SuePurbly Grin

LieInsAreRarerThanTigers · 14/07/2011 14:24

Sorry I have tried to be sympathetic but I think YAB a bit U. I work on a hospital site where there is a nursery and used to drop my ds off there - occasionally parked in a non-allocated bay as there were no other spaces, but always knew I was risking a ticket, even if only stopping for a few mins. Always hoped security would be lenient if I came out to find them by my car - luckily never happened!
I do despair at the number of people speeding on the grounds though; the limit here is 10mph and people do drive at up to 40mph. I don't think there is any excuse really.
