TheHumanCatapult · 04/07/2011 22:06

No Dh or Dp here but ds 1 and ds2 said their sister can date at 18 but they shall be going along as well .DS1 and ds 2 are 17 and 14 now and both 6 foot plus
DD is only 8 and tiny so be intresting when she is older , but she takes no nonsense and very much bosses them around

No illegal drugs.

DD can have a motorbike if she wants one (but I'll buy her a sports car to distract her if necessary Grin).

No ill mannered, loutish, abusive, self centred arse boyfriends or, worse, husband.

No religious fundamentalism and, preferably, no affiliation with any major religion anyway as I would prefer her to think for herself with the exception of the brainwashing I intend to bestow.

moshchops · 04/07/2011 22:44

Vote Tory - I would cry

But seriously.

Smoke.

And if they want tattoo's they have to come to me and I am going to use my Sharpie and scribble over every bit of their body thats NOT allowed to be tattooed. (my work mates son had a tattoo on his SKULL last week - WHY!)

FellatioNelson · 04/07/2011 22:47

I'd love to add to this but my list is too long. Blush Besides, DS2 (16) has already decided to overrule me and he's doing most of them already.

I agree about the armed forces and the motorbikes. Just NO.

Hassled · 04/07/2011 22:52

I saw the thread title and thought "armed forces and motorbikes". But yet lots of people join the armed forces and ride motorbikes - we're fucked, aren't we?

I wish I'd said no to BFs with facial piercings, insane facial hair and no social skills - too late. Dammit.

thefirstMrsDeVere · 04/07/2011 22:56

I just want them to survive

And be good people

Dont give a toss about tattoos or the xfactor.

(would be very Hmm about voting tory though)

bruxeur · 04/07/2011 23:04

No to wendyball. Jesus Christ, please no.

Grockle · 04/07/2011 23:07

Be an astronaut. Of course, that's what DS(5) wants to do but I will never support it!

Beamur · 04/07/2011 23:08

My uncle (in all seriousness) told me not to marry a foreigner because no good would come of it.

Horsemad · 04/07/2011 23:11

I have loads of things I would not be happy with them doing, but realise once they are over 18 I'll have very little say in how they conduct themselves.

The only one I have ever mentioned (not often, but enough for them to know I don't like it) is tattoos.

We are a forces family and my eldest is very keen to become a fighter pilot - I on the other hand, would be furious if he joined up. I feel he's far too clever to waste his life doing that. Haven't verbalised it to him, am keeping quiet and hoping it's just a phase...

BabyDubsEverywhere · 04/07/2011 23:12

Well as i have a tatoo on my face i very much doubt that i will get anywhere with the no tats or piercing route, wouldnt want to really, i love them. (poor middle class father on the other hand had just that plan for me....didnt work)

Im also Tory so would hope i dont turn out sappy liberal kids Grin

Also bikers, alothough taking a few years off while they are very small.

DH is from a military family...i will be (already do) show my complete disdain for a career in the forces. (sorry but it is partly from witnessing my DH's military family, not pulled out my arse!)

So for me i would gutted, truely gutted and feel a bit of a faliure if my children joined either the forces or religion. Gutted! However, if it really was what they wanted to do then i would do my utmost to hold it together and be supportive.

lubberlich · 04/07/2011 23:13

If my son became a Tory or a priest I'd think I'd failed completely.

TYBear · 04/07/2011 23:14

BabyDubs What tattoo do you have on your face? Where is it? Why did you have it done?

Can't imagine having a tattoo on my face really.

RobynLou · 04/07/2011 23:16

If I ever found out either of the DDs voted tory I'd be devastated...

would rather they didn't go into the armed forces/police/fire service, for entirely selfish reasons - I'd worry endlessly.

BabyDubsEverywhere · 04/07/2011 23:18

I have a butterfly wing in black on my left temple. I am quite a conservative dresser really, normal hair Grin so it looks quite different. Im old enough and ugly enough as they say to know what i like, so i thought why not. Smile

Bloody painful to have done though, the burly blokes were sat their wincing whilst it was being done...wimps Grin

queenmaeve · 04/07/2011 23:19

Never look down on anyone.

BabyDubsEverywhere · 04/07/2011 23:20

its about an inch and a bit tall by the way, and just over half an inch wide Smile

FabbyChic · 04/07/2011 23:21

Mine were easy, go to University, don't get caught up in a pregnancy before you have finished your education, I have boys.

Have a life first before considering children, I always said no kids before they were 30. Seems like the eldest is sticking to that he is 24, the youngest who is 18 will follow suit too and do things properly. I had kids at 24 but felt it was too young, I don't now though as Im 46 and both my children are almost off hand.

I wanted mine to be able to be somebodies and have a decent career rather than having children at a young age and working at something they didn't want to do because they had to and not because they wanted to.

TYBear · 04/07/2011 23:26

I have to be honest, I'm a bit Shock that anyone would have a tattoo on their face but, of course, if you like it then that's all that matters.

Have you had any interesting reactions from people! I think I would do a double take!

BabyDubsEverywhere · 04/07/2011 23:32

lots of double takes in the street, but i have been quite surprised at the amount of friends and family that i have seen, been stood face to face talking to and they havent noticed until Ive said 'do you like my new tattoo?' at least half id say actually, and its not exactly tiny, it fills my temple! oh well, no shock value in people today, I dont know what this countries coming to Grin

Nanny0gg · 05/07/2011 00:10

Hmm...

No tattoos (oops, too late)
No skydiving (oops, too late)
No fast cars (oops, too late)

Luckily, the no smoking and no motorbikes rules are still in place.

sharbie · 05/07/2011 00:14

good to know i am normal

motorbikes and army

will show thread to ds next time i see him

mindmycoffee · 05/07/2011 00:33

army, motorbike, and, now that I see it here, sportswear while not actually doing sport...I'm sure there are more...

ShellyBoobs · 05/07/2011 00:58

No smoking
No tattoos
No drugs
No voting Labour

But... Motorbikes are ok, armed forces are ok (OH is ex military) even porn wouldn't be the end of the world.

I can't really see DD being into the forces or motorbikes, though, and hopefully not porn either! Grin
