if there is a MN clique? Someone mentioned it on a thread and I'm now wondering if everyone knows each other in person?

Rhyming stanzas rock.

TrillianAstra · 04/07/2011 14:34

Rhyming is much harder than counting syllables.

Blatherskite · 04/07/2011 14:36

There are no cliques on Mumsnet.

There are groups of people who have perhaps been chatting over a number of threads because of a shared interest - Antenatal groups, Post Natal groups, IPOAT, Crepe-y whositz, Twisluts, Dieters, Counch25kers...They're not excluding new posters, they're just getting on with chatting to each other.

Why not try joining in?

I tried with the IPOAT lot once. They made very little sense but were very welcoming Grin

I think there's a bit of a clique that shows up mainly at the weekends...because they don't have anything more constructive to do than wreak a bit of havoc on here (mess up questions, talk amongst themselves, pat themselves on the back for having misled genuine posters) etc

Apart from that....not really noticed it....although some of the longer term members (who seem to know each other) do tend to stick up for each other.....always agreeing with the same members.

But I guess you get that on any forum.

BecauseImWorthIt · 04/07/2011 14:44

Who are those who like to wreak havoc, SAM? Can you link to any of those threads?

AmazingBouncingFerret · 04/07/2011 14:45

I'm intrigued by the havoc wreakers. Could we have links please?

Hullygully · 04/07/2011 14:49

yes -oooo who they?

sausagesandmarmelade · 04/07/2011 14:51

GIRLS/GUYS....no I can't give links! I don't have time...I'm only popping in!!!

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's observed this!

Blatherskite · 04/07/2011 14:53

Not seen any havoc wreakers? Who are they?

Pagwatch · 04/07/2011 14:54

Nooooo. Not sure who you mean sausage.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 04/07/2011 14:54

I can honestly say i've never seen any purposeful havoc wreaking from particular members.
Except when we've been raided by other forums.

PinotsEvilTwin · 04/07/2011 14:54

I haven't. But I'm in Pinot-land most of the time so...

BitOfFun · 04/07/2011 14:54

Yes, I need to know too. You can't bitchplop like that and just disappear!

PinotsEvilTwin · 04/07/2011 14:56

Grin @ bitchplop

BulletWithAName · 04/07/2011 14:56

Exactly.....sighs...I didn't say they were from this forum!!!! Rolls eyes at some of you!

Bitchplop? A new one on me...

As far as I am aware posters don't have to provide a full essay and name names to back up what they are saying...
I'm entitled to pop onto threads..add my two'pennorth and then leave it..if I want to! Raises eyebrows!!!!!

Hullygully · 04/07/2011 15:00

You can, of course, but we will all have a slight feeling of mistrust about you from now on....

PinotsEvilTwin · 04/07/2011 15:01

Ooh. Well.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 04/07/2011 15:01

But when you leave a comment like that you're bound to get responses asking you to clarify!!

And if they arnt from this forum they are hardly a mumsnet clique and have nothing to do with this subject!

Pagwatch · 04/07/2011 15:03

I want to bitchplop now.

BitOfFun · 04/07/2011 15:03

Bitchplop is a new one because I just made it up

sausagesandmarmelade · 04/07/2011 15:05

You can, of course, but we will all have a slight feeling of mistrust about you from now on....

You are speaking for whom? (apart from yourself)

How silly!

bitchplop · 04/07/2011 15:05
Pagwatch · 04/07/2011 15:06

Ooooh well done

I was arguing with dh once and said " gawd I am in a battle of wits with an unarmed man" which was ever so clever and funny but he said I must have heard it somewhere.

I am undervalued

BitOfFun · 04/07/2011 15:06

Grin Now you have to go on some threads and live up to it!
