Catherine - what was the rationale for moving it?

I haven't read all of this thread, but one thing is very clear.

The OP asked why some women reject feminism. A great number have argued that they don't reject equality for women, which ultimately is at the core of feminism, but they reject the attitude that some "feminists" seem to share. Rightly or wrongly, the feminism board on MN is seen as a haven for that version of feminism.

When this thread moved to feminism, some of the more regular denizens of that subforum seem to be rejecting this view as unfair, and argue that they only aggressively attack feminism.

There's clearly a disconnect between a large number of regular women, who all support equality, and some more radical feminists who do seem to view these women as mysoginists. They don't seem to be able to acknowledge that perception at all. Until they do, I guess there will be lots of women who don't embrace feminism

Bennifer · 03/07/2011 22:17

That line in my fourth paragraph should be "attack misogyny"

Carminagetsprimal · 03/07/2011 22:19

Yay! We're back in AIBU.

I'm still unpainted, wearing sensible shoes and hairy, and if anyone tries anything on, I'll bite.
You've been warned ladies, keep those straighteners away from me and put down the tweezers.
