to be worried I've crammed too much in?

It seems that we are getting so very booked up already for the 8 weeks break, that I am getting concerned that the DC won't have time to just enjoy the garden and the solitude of orchard. I do normally like them just to have some undirected down time so they can just be.
Sigh.

Normally, they will spend hours outside amusing themselves, just poppibg back in to get yet another tiffin box and more lemonade, so much easier now they can puddle the lemons themselves. Smile

But, I've been checking out the diary this morning, and have realised we only have 4 full days at home, and of course that will be taken up with all the necessary school resource purchasing. Angry

So, what with 3 weeks at our place in France, a fortnight in Florida, a week at FDF, and a week in a friend's apt in Canary Wharf so we can do some shows and the museums, I feel I've planned too much for the 4 of them.

I'm also worried that the DCs relationships with schoolfriends will suffer.

Sad

AIBU to be worried? Should I cancel something?

Ha ha, ok.

youmeatsix · 27/06/2011 10:14

get the maid to puddle the lemons
that will free up some time

GypsyMoth · 27/06/2011 10:15

''we are getting so very booked up already for the 8 weeks break''

are you not capable of saying no then??Hmm

HeadfirstForHalos · 27/06/2011 10:16

Yes, you need to cancel everything and spend several weeks indoors watching cbeebies/cbbc instead.

stuffedtotheseams · 27/06/2011 10:17

It's ok six, the DC can do it themselves now, it's rather sweet watching them enjoy the fruits of their labour.

An important life-skill.

And we don't have a maid, just a lady who does, twice a week.

What I think is that you have a rather vivid imagination.....

wordsonapage · 27/06/2011 10:23

it would probably help if you muddled your lemons OP.

chopchopbusybusy · 27/06/2011 10:24

Puddling lemons?

stuffedtotheseams · 27/06/2011 10:29

I was reliably informed that Mumsnet was the place to come to if you had parenting dilemmas?

Confused

I thought people on here would be constructive.

Thanks.

I have been helpful.

wordsonapage · 27/06/2011 10:34

Won't somebody think of those poor lemons?

wordsonapage · 27/06/2011 10:36

I am also worried you will be spending a week at an airport...

ohhappyday · 27/06/2011 10:38

MummyTigger · 27/06/2011 10:44

I think that, if you've got the finances for such active holidays, then why not? The benefits greatly outweigh the drawbacks, and they will love it. Wish I could do the same for my family!

Unfortunately, you posted this in pretty much entirely the wrong section in my opinion, and have seemed a little....... blazé about the fact that you can afford to spend 3 weeks in France and the rest of it. Which is wonderful - don't get me wrong. If I could afford it that's exactly what I'd do! But some people on here are inclined to be a little bitter about certain things, affluence being one of them.

fuzzpig · 27/06/2011 10:47

When I saw the title I thought this was going to be a Bumsex thread.

BarryShitpeas · 27/06/2011 10:49
