to be worried I've crammed too much in?

It seems that we are getting so very booked up already for the 8 weeks break, that I am getting concerned that the DC won't have time to just enjoy the garden and the solitude of orchard. I do normally like them just to have some undirected down time so they can just be.
Sigh.

Normally, they will spend hours outside amusing themselves, just poppibg back in to get yet another tiffin box and more lemonade, so much easier now they can puddle the lemons themselves. Smile

But, I've been checking out the diary this morning, and have realised we only have 4 full days at home, and of course that will be taken up with all the necessary school resource purchasing. Angry

So, what with 3 weeks at our place in France, a fortnight in Florida, a week at FDF, and a week in a friend's apt in Canary Wharf so we can do some shows and the museums, I feel I've planned too much for the 4 of them.

I'm also worried that the DCs relationships with schoolfriends will suffer.

Sad

AIBU to be worried? Should I cancel something?

Not harsh Stuffed (is your user name referring to your bank accounts btw?), just honest. YABU Grin

MarioandLuigi · 27/06/2011 22:22

I believed everything you said until the 4 days for buying school stuff.

One Morning in M&S and Staples and your done!

Valpollicella · 27/06/2011 22:25

She probably has to book an appointment at an upmarket stationer in Paris, or some such other bollocks... so that's a whole day....

stuffedtotheseams · 27/06/2011 22:26

No.

Again sarcasm.

I have 4 children, 3 different schools. That's why it takes so long.

Seriously, folks can get the school procurement done in one day?

OP posts:
Valpollicella · 27/06/2011 22:31

If you have so much money (by the sounds of it) why don't you 'outsource' your 'procurement'?

MarioandLuigi · 27/06/2011 22:32

Yup - or even better I order it online so I can do it in my PJ's. Then I go and get the school jumpers which takes 20 minutes.

stuffedtotheseams · 27/06/2011 22:35

You buy school shoes online?

Do you not care?

OP posts:
Valpollicella · 27/06/2011 22:37

Oh.

Is it a bit chaotic in your house sometimes?

Omigawd · 27/06/2011 22:38

@Stuffed - sorry, I know a few pretentious bankers' wives with the obligatory 4 kids in public schools and at least 2 holidays abroad every summer, but this takes the Biscuit

Purplebuns · 27/06/2011 22:38

Pmsl good one stuffed! You had me at puddled lemons ha!

glassescase · 27/06/2011 22:39

MarioandLuigi · 27/06/2011 22:41

I care enough not to take my children to the hell that is Clarks anytime in the two weeks before the schools go back.

Ha ha ha. Nice one Grin

The 'pottering in the garden' and 'making lemonade' sounds familiar to me.

fuzzpig · 27/06/2011 23:26

Fuzzpig is a local term for hedgehog :) (not local to me, I just like the term)

Just saw ours scoffing a load of chicken outside our window. CUTE!

stuffedtotheseams · 27/06/2011 23:26

Am I being dense?

What's going on here?

For goodness sake Stuffed, dismiss the serfs and hand over the cherry orchard. Life is so much less stressful for us members of the proletariat.
