Keep it for Christmas!

Just because it's free, doesn't mean a thing.

chocolateyclur · 25/06/2011 12:23

I'd put it away for Christmas personally - I'm skint and it'd be a fab gift!

belgo · 25/06/2011 12:24

definitely put it away for Christmas.

Ormirian · 25/06/2011 12:25

Christmas! Bloody hell.... DS1 had one a few years back and it cost us an arm and a leg Shock

I have been known to put away all kinds of unwanted gifts and Blush raffle prizes to recycle. X-Box is definitely a keeper.

cheesesarnie · 25/06/2011 12:26

put it away for christmas!

fivegomadindorset · 25/06/2011 12:27

Definitely Christmas.

GreenEyesandHam · 25/06/2011 12:29

For sure

quirrelquarrel · 25/06/2011 12:29

He won't know, and if he does and thinks it's not a real present because it was free, then there are bigger problems afoot.

LittleMissFlustered · 25/06/2011 12:29

Going with the flow, Crossmyth for sure. Does your husband just want a sneaky go on it himself? Wink

Keep it for Christmas.

mummakaz · 25/06/2011 12:41

I would save it for xmas too, I definately wouldn't give him it now plus the money saved could go towards a couple of games or whatever :)

lettinggo · 25/06/2011 12:48

Definitely save it for Christmas. It's too big a gift for a child to get for no reason. The face that it was free means nothing.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 25/06/2011 12:50

Absolutely Christmas. I thought it was going to be a poxy tube of handcream or something!

trixymalixy · 25/06/2011 12:51

Yanbu, I would do the same.

CherylWillBounceBack · 25/06/2011 13:07

FFS. Will people stop calling it 'free' please? It wasn't free, they are just paying for it in installments.

SinicalSal · 25/06/2011 13:09

Christmas for sure, no question.

I so would, but test it first.

CherylWillBounceBack · 25/06/2011 13:31

Indeed Reality - I see you'd already pointed that out!

OP - I don't understand your thinking. It sounds like you weren't really bothered by the 'gift' in the first place to be deliberating over when you actually use it. By Christmas, the Xbox is likely to be cheaper than it is now, or come with a few more games. Why then did you choose to probably pay over the odds for a contract?

Just give it to him now and tell him its a very early christmas present. At least you're getting some out of it to justify the extra price you paid.
