to ask who the fuck are the moderators on here and suggest that unless there was a very good reason to delete the HSBC thread - and I would like a very good reason - then this site is over-moderated

Actually it wasn't dying in a pool of blood, it was drowning.

"well he's not stupid" .. just because he has heard it does not mean he has to know the meaning, or how rude it is.

BelleDameSansMerci · 24/06/2011 19:41

I only saw the title - didn't click on the thread. The title did seem a bit harsh...

You could have said that without being disparaging about people because of where they came from. You can express communication issues without resorting to that.

OrangeHat · 24/06/2011 19:43

A cunt's just a cunt.

Not the same as wishing agonising death on people.

Not that I saw the thread!

worraliberty · 24/06/2011 19:44

"well he's not stupid" .. just because he has heard it does not mean he has to know the meaning, or how rude it is.

He knows it's a very rude word and never to use it because I told him it was a rude word and not to use it.

I have told him what it means and how rude it is, why wouldn't I? Confused

Glitterknickaz · 24/06/2011 19:44

Thing is threads don't get deleted because of a single complaint.
There must have been quite a few to get it noticed.

Glitterknickaz · 24/06/2011 19:45

Actually on the cunt thing a friend of mine's teenage son was constantly bandying the word around until said friend told him exactly what he was saying. He went Blush and hasn't said it since....

activate · 24/06/2011 19:45

this cannot be deleted as a thread about a thread beacuse there is no initial thread any more as it has been deleted

this would have to be deleted as a thread about a big vaccuous hole that used to have a decent and interesting discussion on it but was removed because a moderator likes pushing the button

oh it was you lequeen wasn't it - good thread - interesting - hope you're feeling less ranty now

OP posts:
Riveninside · 24/06/2011 19:45

Im buessing it was racist?

Glitterknickaz · 24/06/2011 19:46

Apparently not, Riven.
Saying that call centre staff can't speak English because they come from Mumbai isn't at all racist.

activate · 24/06/2011 19:46

I wish agonising death (momentarily) on people on a virtually daily basis

boiled in oil is a favourite
trampled by a bull also good

OP posts:
Glitterknickaz · 24/06/2011 19:47

Those things are somewhat rare.
The death alluded to isn't as rare, unfortunately.

it was not racist - people who work in customer services should have an acceptable command of the language of the people they are servicing to understand and be understood otherwise they are not fit for the job

commenting that this did not happen is a comment on bad customer service

OP posts:
activate · 24/06/2011 19:48

Oh I see - hey LeQueen it's the comparitive rarirty of the death you wished upon them - did you know that?

shall we make up some new ones

honestly, what an awful way to address the folk who run this site, activate, your thread title is so so aggressive

really really rude

Wasn't just me who thought it though.

SecretNutellaFix · 24/06/2011 19:51

activate- you have been here long enough to know that MN is not moderated in that way. If people have an issue with a particular thread then they report it to MNHQ.

Not all reported threads get deleted- only ones which MNHQ believe could cause offence if they remain. That decision is based on the reasons given by the person reporting and also by number of posters who report.

I saw the title and refused to go onto the thread.

Nah. I think I might have been the second or third person to say I thought it was racist.
