What joyment is there to camp for 3 days in a mud pit, queue to use the toilet, stinking for 3 days and paying hundreds to see shit bands?
Or am I too old and like my conforts too much?

Used to do download when it was donnigton monsters of rock.
Really wanted to do sonisphere as all the main bands I loved as a teen like Metallica and slayer. Tickets were too expensive though :(

nice to see morrissey on tv though

Tuppenyrice · 24/06/2011 21:29

Wish I were there...
Was at Isle of Wight recently & rediscovered my inner rock chick.
So yeah, wish I were at Glastonbury.

misspollysdolly · 24/06/2011 21:31

Nope. The thought of it does nothing for me, and didn't even when I was young and daft enough to merit thinking it a good idea to go. The only thing I would value is seeing Paul Simon play live, but hey ho...it's not worth getting clarted in mud, crap and puke for...

Tuppenyrice · 24/06/2011 21:31

Mind you I'm one of those arseholes who goes VIP, backstage etc so it's never difficult.
Sorry. Blush

MadameBoo · 24/06/2011 21:31

Please to come and kick my arse on my thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1245005-to-be-sulking-about-not-being-at-Glastonbury - I posted it before I saw this one.

girliefriend · 24/06/2011 21:31

Am watching mumford and sons and wishing I was there......

YABU

everyone should do Glastonbury at least once on the life.

HooverTheHamaBeads · 24/06/2011 21:34

mumford are reall good.

girliefriend · 24/06/2011 21:34

in their life wtf I haven't even been drinking!!!!

Tuppenyrice · 24/06/2011 21:36

I'm teaching my 7yo about The Smiths

stickylittlefingers · 24/06/2011 21:37

yabu - I don't want to be there, but watching it on telly makes me feel all nostalgic and warm-feeling towards the lovely young people having fun. Every bloody thing seems to cost too much money now - soon only trustafarians will be able to do all the good stuff of our (pushing 40's) youth - going to festivals, going to university...

DontGoCurly · 24/06/2011 21:37

Well said MuthaMucca, hope they get bottled off the stage. Hate, hate, hate em!!

LoopyLoopsBettyBoops · 24/06/2011 21:38

I've been I think 5 times, and I hate it.

Mostly I hate it because U2 are playing.

June just isn't a good month for a festival.

MotherMucca · 24/06/2011 21:41

Yes, Curly and Betty, hope to see coverage of the Uncut protest!

MotherMucca · 24/06/2011 21:42

Tuppenyrice, my son knew who The Smiths were at age 4.

pointydog · 24/06/2011 21:46

It's incredibly optional though, isn't it. No need to go, no need to watch it. So I'm not sure why you'd hate it.

pointydog · 24/06/2011 21:47

My daughters were humming FRankly MrShankly in the womb.

DontGoCurly · 24/06/2011 21:47

hehehehe MM lets hope its nice and embarassing for the twats!

MotherMucca · 24/06/2011 21:49

:)

pointy my son was conceived outside Salford Lads' Club. While Johnny Marr strummed How Soon is Now?

MrsFlittersnoop · 24/06/2011 21:55

Are some of Mumford actually wearing their DUFFLECOATS on stage? Hmm

Can't say I blame 'em!

Or is that just part of their look?

SparklyCloud · 24/06/2011 22:01

Would have agreed with you - until I just saw Moz perform...fantastic.

DontGoCurly · 24/06/2011 22:02

ha ha ha they sound shit without all their bolloxology DIE BONO DIE!!!

SloganLogan · 24/06/2011 22:02

Glastonbury stopped being cool many years ago. It used to be a real hippy experience for music-lovers. It's very commercialised now and you can get exactly the same experience in most major music venues, but without the mud. Putting up with mud to listen to mainstream music does not make people cool or edgy at all.

MintChocAddict · 24/06/2011 22:07

I've never been but want me and DH to go for our 40th birthdays in 2014. (oldies)
Watching just now on BBC2.
'Hey, I'm Bono and I love me.'
