Bloody hell, I seem to be surrounded by people that think they are going to die when they are 103 in bed surrounded by their loved ones!

laitAuChoco how morbid, I think you are in the minority. Pension don't mind saving for (we are) but funeral noway!!!

Can't say I have.
My guess is my funeral costs will come out of my estate and the whole thing will be organised for my nearest and dearest when the time comes.

I'm 36 BTW and haven't considered dying (although I'm well aware that I will)

It's just my opinion, so no judgement on anyone else, but I see someone's funeral as an expression of what the people left behind thought of the person.

So it's not for me to say how my own goes.

As I will be dead I probably won't care what my funeral is like. Or if you are talking about paying for it then I guess my DH will pay for it from life insurance or savings

That said, i have had my will drawn up properly, far more important really, especially when you have kids

I have informed DH that I would like the cheapest funeral possible. No nonsense like brass handles on my coffin etc, in fact a bin bag would do. I would rather DH and my boys spent the money on a nice holiday instead.

I am immortal. I have no funeral plans (although I do sometimes hear a prayer or a poem or a song and make DH remember it just in case it turns out that I am, in fact, mortal) :o

I'm concerned for myself because I dont have a partner and my parents would no way be able to afford to bury me, nor would I want to leave them with that financial burden. I have seen a family who had an uncle die have to scrabble about desperately for the money to give him a decent send off and would hate to think that was what I left behind.

I haven't even got a will. Must sort it out, is a will pack from wh smiths ok or do I need a solicitor. Am married and all very strightforwrd.

Quite enjoyed will writing. I'd recommend it. I want certain family and friends to inherit specific things. They'll know how much i love em!

Riveninside, what if YOU die before mum and DD? If they are relying on you to pay for theirs, who are YOU relying on???? This is what i'm worried about.

Wowoo what provisions have you made? I dont mean choosing the tracklist and stocking up the bar and that kind of thing, more where the money is coming from to do that?

We've got wills but I see no point in arranging my own funeral. It's not as though I'll be standing on the sidelines, tutting .

Should i pop my clogs before mum 76, or dd- not expected to live till 10, i shall have a council burial. Cos we have no money.

I am thinking when i shuffle off the funeral man will send dh a bill or whoever after the event and he will get so long to pay it like 30 days in which time he can sell my car or something or whack on credit card and enjoy paying it off till he sells my car. Im having a quick crem and a knees up back at the house so it should be fairly cheap. Ooo i have an isa in my name only so he can have that too and i have an online business so if he can get his act together he can have a quick sale and sell loads of nappies.

It will pay out on your death and you can stipulate in your will that it is to be used to pay for your funeral.

i think i've stipulated cremation in my will, but have made no specific final provision. but am in the process of sorting some basic additional life insurance, which would cover it, as well as childcare if i shuffle off in the very near future...
