Love laoise must add to my list! Can I just steal all your dc's names Wink

Seeker my children are going to have very Irish names mixed with very very Scottish middle and last names (due to both our family's traditions on middle names) it's going to be alittle confusing Blush

BumWiper · 17/06/2011 19:54

Of course Twinks.Just leave the rabbit alone. It would be cruel to call a child Ninky Nonk.

What's all this guff some posters are spouting about "why so many letters?" and "why not just speak English?" So ignorant! Gaelic is a different language. That's why it looks different.

YANBU. These names are hardly conventional in the UK. It is perfectly reasonable to ask - and without embarrassment. The trouble with these names, as nice as they are, is that they will have to spell it out forever.

I have a Niamh 9, I love her name but she doesnt. She has to spell it all the time and at the doctors, dentist hospital they always shout Ni-am Ne-am or Niamph. It gets on her nerves and wishes she would change her name. Her cards are always spelt wrong aswell.
