AIBU to think the foul language and vulgar tone of these threads is just too much

During the last few days the foul language, just a quick skim through the AIBU headings reveals such awful words, has been such that I don't think I will be coming back again too often. Mumsnet - Middle Class - Parenting orientated - really, is it really? Vulgar, nasty, ill mannered, spring more easily to mind. What a shame.

lady you sound delightful Hmm

AuntieMonica · 15/06/2011 21:30

Crikey Vaga wtf is that meant to mean?

I've never got into a fight in a pub, and never called anyone on here a cunt.

And as for my kids....that's got absolutely jack shit to do with you.

I am good enough, good enough not to sling insults about in the name of 'decency' as you seem to be doing.

And I'm not a liar either.

LadyOfTheCuntryManor · 15/06/2011 21:31

And my funny loving stupidity keeps me alive and that's coming from someone with bipolar.

GoodDaysBadDays · 15/06/2011 21:33

Hahaha! Shrink at the school gates because I think I'm not good enough? Not good enough for your gang looking down on the rest of us poor souls who have no idea how wonderful we could be if we just stopped calling each other cunts all the time?

Don't pity my children love. They're doing surprisingly well despite having a white trash mother.

Go and get yourself another sugar-coated doughnut

NeverEvenHeardOfAgentZigzag · 15/06/2011 21:34

Oscar Wilde was a cunt

Vaga If a mother at the school gate did something that actually warranted being called a cunt then I would call her a cunt. Absolutely.

I am most certainly not lying with regard to my honesty on here. What you see is what you get with me. I am not a liar.

Don't get into fights in pubs. Don't even go into pubs these days. I am certainly not white trash.

Jees - even my darling late Grandmother, a General's wife, and a General's daughter, said fuck every once in a while. What the fuck does that make her?

Slightly offended I am.

ReindeerBollocks · 15/06/2011 21:37

I actually agree with the OP Blush.

I think sometimes swearing has a time and place, eg Hully's recent thread and the goat escapades. The OP does have a right to state that some language makes her uncomfortable, even if people don't agree with her.

However, most of the posters can and do participate in more intectual discussions (when they arise). It doesn't have to be serious all the time, but to imply that anyone who swears is a vagrant is a bit harsh and makes the people who think that way, no better than those who use foul language.

I know I'm probably facing some stick, especially given my username but thought I'd give my opinion anyway.

ChaoticAngelofLitha · 15/06/2011 21:38

Why would mn be middle class? Confused

Nothing judgey about pointing out that this thread is heaving with personal attacks. Shall I summarise them for those who've missed them> (Distracted by goats and meths no doubt)

Off you fuck then, cuntychops.

Feck off ya cunt (with a smiley so that's ok then right?)

Bollocks you twat faced eejit.

Ah you cunty twatheaded shit fucker

Oh do fuck off

Cunt

(with a grin emoticon - see above)

I certainly don't wish to be a dried up old bag like you

Is this really ok? Would you be ok with me talking to you like this? Because I'm certainly not ok with it.

sleepingsatellite · 15/06/2011 21:40

Its a bit sad that you think children of people who dont swear are starved of laughter and love. What a strange thing to say! How on earth does saying 'fuck' and 'cunt' equal a happy and loving relationship with your children?!

[reminds self to say 'good fucking morning' to DS tomorrow to make he knows hes loved]

usualsuspect · 15/06/2011 21:41

I knew they were all wankers from the start ....

AnyFucker · 15/06/2011 21:41

will you be doing the glassing, vagabond ?

that's a bit nasty, isn't it ?

physical violence should never be tolerated, threatened nor should it be intimated that someone deserves it

do you beat your kids too ?

RockStockAndTwoOpenBottles · 15/06/2011 21:42

Vaga I'd say my children are doing rather well actually. And they wonderful, clever, high achieving, funny and beautiful children at that. And they have wicked senses of humour, and don't glass people in the face.

You are one rude person. I can't imagine many of the posters on this thread would want to meet you either. How lucky is that?

allegrageller · 15/06/2011 21:47

'the horrendous under-belly of British society'

I love that. I might use it as my next nickname.

usualsuspect · 15/06/2011 21:47

Northernlurker

you missed

white trash

liars

Frankly, most of you belong on a gypsy wedding type show

I still reckon you'll get glassed in the face though.

bleedingheartlefty · 15/06/2011 21:48

I might name change to 'HorrendousUnderBelly' it has a ring to it.

allegrageller · 15/06/2011 21:49

btw Vaga I would have thought that the horrendous underbelly of British society is rather more shocking than a few women having a laugh at swearing on the internet.

Crack houses, sex trafficking, and indeed violent crime are quite unlikely to be perpetuated by these here Mners. To be brutally fair.

bleedingheartlefty · 15/06/2011 21:49

Haha, x post
Fight you for it, allegrageller

allegrageller · 15/06/2011 21:49

bleedingheart it's mine!!! miiiiiiiinnnnnne (don't swear at me or I'll cry btw)

clemetteattlee · 15/06/2011 21:50

Is it OK vaga to point out that you can enjoy other people swearing (I have particularly enjoyed the swearing today) without being a fan of swearing yourself? I never use the C-word, am very comfortable in both the playground and the workplace, and have the imagination to understand that a woman who swears is just another woman. It is only when some women become judgemental/uppity/bigoted that they me.
Just pointing out that you don't speak for the majority...

allegrageller · 15/06/2011 21:50

it's mine i saw it first!! gerroooofff
