AIBU to think the foul language and vulgar tone of these threads is just too much

During the last few days the foul language, just a quick skim through the AIBU headings reveals such awful words, has been such that I don't think I will be coming back again too often. Mumsnet - Middle Class - Parenting orientated - really, is it really? Vulgar, nasty, ill mannered, spring more easily to mind. What a shame.

Vagabond · 15/06/2011 21:12

Well, respect to Northenlass and others.

Pumpernickle - your post makes no sense. Stop drinking the meths.

Is this England?

This isn't a CLASS thing. It's a question of TASTE.

Pls answer question, all you swear-demons: "would you want your RL friends to read what you write on Mumsnet?" I reckon 99% of you would be ashamed. Admit it.

And so you should be. You are representing the breakdown of society.

Omigawd · 15/06/2011 21:13

"Frankly, most of you belong on a gypsy wedding type show. "

Tut @Vag, do keep up - MN did in the fucking gypsies Travelling People last week!

AuntieMonica · 15/06/2011 21:13

i missed that out too...agree that calling a poster directly is not on

usualsuspect · 15/06/2011 21:14

I never did have any taste

AuntieMonica · 15/06/2011 21:15

see now Vaga you have now sunk to personal insults too

you might not be using swearwords but it's still a insult................the breakdown of society? because i use the word 'bastard' in a sentence on the internet?

MumGoneCrazy · 15/06/2011 21:18

The only "c" word that should be banned is "christmas" especially before november

RockStockAndTwoOpenBottles · 15/06/2011 21:18

I'm not at all ashamed of anything I have written on MN, and as such has nothing to admit to.

To be perfectly honest I have neither the time nor the inclination to make up some namby pamby sweet persona when that is in no way indicative of the real me. I swear, so what? I don't swear in a room full of old ladies or children, but I'm highly likely to say 'oh fuck' or 'bollocks' or 'for fuck's sake' when necessary - IMO. I will call someone a wanker or a cunt, but haven't yet on here unless it's in complete jest and those people are highly likely to return the sentiment. And do. But they are also people who I both respect and like, and whom I am pretty sure are the same on here as they are in RL. I don't know for sure, but I reckon they are.

I hardly think the fact that I swear makes me a representative of the breakdown of society.

Pumpernickel10 · 15/06/2011 21:18

Anyone for a pint of meth with me?
Luckily vaga I like insults makes me feel alive.
Come on try harder deary.

Pumpernickel10 · 15/06/2011 21:20

Yes my RL friends are free to read what I write :)

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 15/06/2011 21:20

Vagabond, I'd certainly be ashamed to let RL people see my MN posts.

But not because of the swearing, like.

Because I often slag them off use them as examples/to illustrate my points on here Grin

Oh and because of the ferocity of my embarrassing crushes on unsuitable slebs.

Scuse me now while I continue to break down society with my bare hands.

beanlet · 15/06/2011 21:20

No, I would not be ashamed. I even swear - when it's warranted - in front of my (older male) boss.

I am usually more discriminate with my swearing, both here and in RL, because otherwise it loses its effect. But I certainly do swear (although I don't blaspheme due to ingrained religious upbringing.) And MN has always been rightly as free of censorship as possible, and I do think this is a freedom of expression issue.

RockStockAndTwoOpenBottles · 15/06/2011 21:20

Mmmmmm meth. WHy the fuck not Grin

AnyFucker · 15/06/2011 21:21

could I have a fucking fag with that meth ?

JumpOnIt · 15/06/2011 21:21

No, Northernlurker, we really can't.

Ok, it probably is a bit mean to swear at her gratuitously but what did she really think would happen when she posted a thread like that? It was an invitation!

Reality, that was the funniest thing on MN all week.

Pumpernickel10 · 15/06/2011 21:21

On meth and in charge of a 10 yr old. Someone call SS

babylann · 15/06/2011 21:22

Didn't read much of this thread. Just the OP and the first few responses. Chuckled about "cuntychops". Think I might use that one.

Pumpernickel10 · 15/06/2011 21:22

Bet not fucker with all that hairspray on your head you'll blow up

Vagabond · 15/06/2011 21:23

The fact is, most of you are cowards who shrink at the school gate because you don't think you're good enough.

Don't ever lie and say that you would say in RL what you say on MN. THAT IS A LIE.

You would NEVER have the guts to call another mum a cunt. So why do it here? And if you say you do have the guts, well....I can just imagine that you are the next person in the papers that we'll read about who's been 'glassed" in the face at a pub.

Be real. Most of you are so witty and funny and I love to read your posts. I think there is wit on Mumsnet that is worth of Oscar Wilde. Why ruin it with such trash talk. Frankly, it's like white trash on Jerry Springer at the moment. And if you feel proud about that, hey..... I feel sorry for your kids. What hope do they have?

fit2drop · 15/06/2011 21:25

vagabond "It's all very well to be brave behind a nickname here on Mumsnet "

so telling someone to fuck off and offering goats is a brave thing to do!!!!!

Well FUCK ME by the armpit, in real life I must be a fucking DEAD 'ARD ME!.

GoodDaysBadDays · 15/06/2011 21:25

Vagabond

Yes I probably do sound like a shrewd like tobacco chewer in rl. In my spare time. Mn is my spare time too.

I can also articulate myself to sound like a well spoken middle class professional when required.

Today I have sounded like a proper laydee innit.

Tomorrow I may be a cunting cunt faced cunt.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 15/06/2011 21:26

Yes, won't somebody think of the children?!

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 15/06/2011 21:26

'fuck me by the armpit'?? Grin Grin

LadyOfTheCuntryManor · 15/06/2011 21:27

Number 1) Don't insult Oscar Wilde
Number 2) Don't tell suggest to me that I wouldn't call another mother a name of my particular choice.

Number 3) Don't assume that a) I am white b) I am trash c) I drink in "pubs" and d) I know who the fuck Jerry Springer is.

Number 4) Fuck off.

Northernlurker · 15/06/2011 21:27

'It was an invitation' - really? I can't see the bit in her one and only post where she asks to be abused in exhange for her opinion?

JumpOnIt · 15/06/2011 21:29

Nice to see some people have their judgey pants wedged firmly up their backsides. Oh, I shouldn't have said that. My poor children, what chance do they stand.......
